Sonic 1 oddness

The board in your cartidge must've got fudged up or damaged, so it doesn't work anymore. However, when locked onto Sonic and Knuckles, all it needs is the header data to generate the special stages, and by the sound of it, the header survived any damage your cartridge may have sustained over the years.

If I see you say "in before trash" one more time, I'm suspending you for a week.

 

All the code for the special stage generation is contained in the Sonic & Knuckles cart, all it does with Sonic 1 is check the serial number of the locked on cartredge, and see if it matches an internal list of Sonic 1 serial numbers, so it knows whether or not to let you access the full bluesphere game.

 

A week hell... I override that and say a month, minimum. "inb4*" fucking sucks, and I hate it unless it's done in an extremely humorous way. That wasn't.

I noticed this too a long time ago, but it's still nice to know that not everyone knows everything. It does this with certain other games too, I believe it did that with Aladdin and another game that I can't quite remember the name of.
