    Technically, they're not milliseconds. Milliseconds would in fact go to 999 on the second counter. They're more like centiseconds. See below for an explanation:

    1 metre = 100 centimetres, 1 metre = 1000 millimetres.

    Therefore, to follow the same logical process:

    1 second = 100 centiseconds, 1 second = 1000 milliseconds.

    Therefore:

    Centi = 1/100, Milli = 1/1000

    Since the numbers go to 99 before changing to a second, they should therefore be centiseconds.

    You could just say fuck it and make it a frame counter instead - 00 to 59 (or 49 for PAL) =P

    Wow. Best hack yet. I can't wait to try it, it even has a new soundtrack and everything? Yikes! I hope I have a portable system ready to play that on when it's released.

    I hope I've made the right choice on where to put this
    Tweaker will be sort of unavailable for a whle.. apparantly his laptop battery charger has stopped working, and the battery itself finally gave out just a few minutes ago, when he asked me to post about it. He says it's going to limit his access a good deal, and I'm also under the impression that it'll affect what he'll be able to do in terms of working on Megamix for a while. He also said that he may not be able to get a new charger, so I really don't know how long this could last. He didn't have a whole lot of time to be more specific. I'm just letting you all know as much as I do, since I was asked

    Progress will still be made on Megamix, but not in the music department. I've been doing odd bits for him here and there, and I've been working on level art for him as well, since it's supposed to be a joint hack. Thanks for the notice though Stealth.

    Okay, got to hop on at school...

    What he said is correct. My charger started sparking after not working for a while, and it's completely fucked as far as I know at this time. All my source is inaccessible, so I'm hoping you have a copy, Stephen. Be sure to send Stealth a copy too (battery died RIGHT when I was gonna email him a copy of the source).

    you should change sonic's pallets to a s3k type of blue, instead of kepping it his sonic 1 bluish/purplish colour

    Continue option = WIN. Just make the game long / challenging enough to merit its' inclusion. =P

    However, at its' native resolution the font you've used for the menu on the title screen is almost unreadable, shaded how it is.. my suggestion to solve this would be to either:

    a) make it all one colour (as on the Sonic 2 / 3 title screen menus)

    b) use a larger font akin to the "Press Start Button" text from Sonic 1's title screen, which uses similar shading but is still legible due to its' size. Obviously if you were using this font, you'd have to create some letters yourself (since the only existing letters are P, R, E, S, T, A, R, B, U, O, and N), but it's not too hard to accurately imitate the lettering / shading style used in that text..

    c) lighten the water in the background. The text would contrast more, though it'd fudge up the nice palette you've got going there. =/


    Aside from that, there's not much to say. The title screen palette's quite nice, though, good job on that.

    Out of interest, actually, will the title screen's background still be kept as Green Hill in the final version, or will it be updated to match the background of the first zone in your hack / a new background entirely? =P Forgive me if this is a ridiculous question; in the last few years I've fallen out of the loop somewhat when it comes to what's possible to alter. XD

    I'll be making the title screen show Azure Lake eventually, but first I need to work out how deformation is handled in S1, coz it's a lot different to S2.

    Exactly why I based the menu text off the text in my Sonic 2 hack... Any visual issues can be fixed by changing a few palette entries.

    Hey guys, remember slots E5-FF?

    They're all music now. =D

    Took a bit of looking at how the game differenciated sound and music slots, and a shitload of renaming, but it's all good now. Each boss will now have its own music. :)
