Sonic 1 - Emerald Power : By LOst and Fiz

    Shibby. I've never received more than 100 rings in any Sonic 1 level. Now to work on my homework in Accounting. S3&K mixed with the accounting cycle. that gives me today to beat the entire game and get snapshots.

    If only we could find out how to make the Zone music continue after the Chaos Emerald music... :\

    And that title screen looks neat. :D

    Maybe, if there is another version after this one (it depends how busy we are), we will try to implement the Chaos Emerald Music and the title screen, along with other evil things to make your frustration rise. >=D

    Hmm...what about LOst? :P

    ROM heading/name issues aside, this is great. I've only beaten GHZ Act 1, and with two Emeralds (I'm supposed to be doing schoolwork :D ), but I have a feeling I'll be coming back to this for more when I can. In fact, I have a feeling that I'll be coming back for more many, many times. Great stuff.

    I've been thinking about the idea of adding the Emerald SFX, or, rather the somewhat technical side to it. I have an idea as to how it's possible for the music to continue playing:

    Upon receiving, for example, a 1-up, the game would count (or, rather, already know, since having to count on-the-fly would surely be a bit too much for the Genesis) the length of the 1-up's song data, and then jump ahead that many bytes in the currently playing song. (Volume controls, for fades, aren't considered in this example, but clearly the game knows to throw them in.)

    Unless, of course, the music just restarts from where it left off, as opposed to jumping ahead. (You'd think I'd be able to tell the difference after 11 years of playing these games. x_x) In that case, it probably stores the current position in the song somewhere, plays the new music, and then jumps back to where it was. Kind of like how songs can loop without going all the way back to the beginning.

    EDIT: Oh yeah...there's still the tiny little problem of lack of knowledge as to how this really works, as I believe was mentioned before. Forgot about that.

    I didn't make the header. :P LOst did. I didn't even notice that. XD So, that may be why everyone thinks I was the only one working on the hack?

    It is absolutely _impossible_ to get the red emerald in MZ1. Sonic can't jump that high...:o

    EDIT: Actually, with the help of a Super Jump GG Code.....

    Well, stand on the hill and jump down on the shield monitor while holding down the jump button. Then whoom up to the red emerald

    Download the ROM again, and it will be there. It was my only mistake when releaseing it before trying MZ1 >.<
