    That is the most interesting level art I have seen in any hack. Replace green hill with that entirely.

    I very much enjoyed the video. I have always wondered what GHZ would look like with that background. I am also curious to see the final cut on the Alpha Marble zone. Excellent work so far.

    This was from the original unreleased hack I was gonna submit AFTER finishing an older version of my hack. before I merged the two hacks together for 0.06

    This is getting a HUGE touchup and updating before being added in there.

  8. Wow, this is a great looking hack. I have been looking at this thread for a while now, and I am impressed. We down at the central <a href="http://www.smwcentral.net/?p=thread&id=8276" target="_blank">have our own beta remake</a> (which was released only a few days ago) and this looks like a good one too. Keep up the good work!

    So it's been a long time since I last posted about what has been going on with this hack. Well, I guess I should give an explanation WHY this hack has been so silent in the last 6 or months...

    Well, The first reason is I've been extremely busy with my personal life, And that besides other things takes about one half to two thirds of my free time. So naturally I havent had the time to work on it like I used to a year or two ago.

    And there is another reason why. I have almost run out of things to put into the hack. I pretty much have covered every lost feature from Sonic 1.

    One of the things I updated was just recently adding a truly accurate way of creating sparkles in the BG perfectly, JUST Like what possibly was in the actual screens. This save a lot of space in the rom and basically gives it a more realistic feel with less limits as Animated patterns have a certain limit of tiles and a even more pathetic limit of 16 frames. The sparkles are no longer just tiles in the BG.

    I'll post some better screens soon, but for now, Here is what I've got so far.

    Also, There has been a bit of a change to Night Hill Zone (Now known is Rock Region Zone)

    EDIT: There is going to be maybe ONE or TWO more releases of the original hack. If this is the case, The extended version is going to be Version 0.07, or better yet, since it will be done, V1.0

    Wonderful news!

    Now, I have a question to ask: will there be a "polished" version of the hack? So you can beat all the levels from start to finish without running into any problems? I know it's supposed to be a beta and all, but it makes a nice alternative to vanilla Sonic 1.

    That is correct, Version 0.07/8/1.0 is gonna be a completed ALTERNATE Sonic 1, Clock Work, Labyrinth are completed in the current build.

    I really like what this hack is now. It's not necessarily a Sonic 1 Beta, but to me it's just a Sonic 1 if you made it, or something. :v:

    The enemies seem to clutter <strike>Green Hill Zone</strike> Rock Region Zone a bit too much though.

    About the enemies, Yeah, a bunch of them are appearing in groups is minor problem I'm already working on. right now this is being fixed in act 2 as I had just finished its stage. or as I like to call it, fine tuning.

    Ok, so I need a decision... What tone of color for Rock Region's Sky should be used?
