So, the game shows up as compatible for my device (Xperia X10 Mini), but it's unstable as hell, it crashes very often without a pattern or even a force close message, it just drops me back to the homescreen.

It's rooted, running MiniCM7 (CyanogenMOD 7 for the X10 Mini) on kernel 2.6.29.6

Sonic CD runs perfectly on this so I don't know what the hell :(

Eggman is turning me crazy in Spring Yard zone. Sometimes he keeps flying over me instead of trying to attack, and I need to pass two times in a row under him in order of bringing him down.

I noticed some crabmeats and piranhas also act a bit different, shooting (or jumping) way before or in a different order than the original game. Peraphs it's my imagination... or is something related to the new screen resolution?

And like it was said before: sometimes music stops playing after losing a life, leaving you only with the sound effects.

I've also noticed it with buzzbombers on green hill. There is too fucking many! And they appear non-stop! I thought it was only that I didn't remember how it was but if you noticed it too...

Tried it with that "Wiimote Controller" app.

Is it just me, or is Sonic heavier than I remember him being? Maybe it's some input lag from the Wii Remote to the phone that's just subtle enough that I couldn't notice it.

I had this issue as well. However, after force-closing the app the game started doing that with the jump sound instead.

Clearing the app's cache has seemed to have fixed the problem (for now).

I play it regularly on emulators, and the impression I had is that badnicks seem to start to act before, so the positions and behavior look a bit different when you are there. For example jumping from plataforms in SYZ, crabmeats start shooting before you land nearby. And in GHZ, I usually can run under the last piranhas, but now they're in a lower position by the time I pass, so I'm being hit all the time. Anyways, I was enjoying the game, with the new menu, the spindash and the remastered music... until I met SYZ Eggman. Two Game Over :(

Went ahead and got it since a PC version will probably be a ways off, then I tried forcing it into portrait mode. You get stuck at the Eggman battle as you can't move to the platforms with the smaller screen width. Wonder if it adjusts if you have a smaller screen normally or if those are listed as incompatible?

Otherwise it runs very well so far, seemingly 60fps on my Kyocera Hydro that normally isn't that strong for games. Only other one that ran that well was... Sonic CD! Hard to get used to the touch screen stick but I'm sure I'll get used to it or hook my Wiimote to it later.

I can report that the game is compatible with your MOGA controller if you got it for Sonic CD. (It just doesn't show up under the Pivot App.)

The port is quite nice. Well done Taxman and Stealth. A nice early birthday present for me.

Not where I want to be.
Sonic (?): Coming summer of 2055...?
I'm still waiting on a neat, not bootlegged looking/operating handheld Android gaming solution. Just throw a phone's innards into a handheld console looking plastic shell, complete with buttons, and make sure that in the 3.5mm stereo plug can accept work as a mic input too. Boom, it'll print money.

I'd do it myself if I had a worthy phone as a guinea pig and a 3D printer. Geez.

The Xperia Play's ears are burning.

After some trial and error, I managed to re-root my phone, do some magic, and now I bought a copy. Please disregard all complaints here on out unless otherwise noted.

Played Green Hill Zone all the way through, picking up two Chaos Emeralds on the way. Game ran at 15FPS (or as I lovingly call it, TAS Mode) so I can't say I experienced delicious buttery smooth Sonic 1 as it was intended, but I can notice it in animation cycles and such. Not the biggest fan of touch controls, but Taxman's always had a way of doing them right, so while I had to fight with Sonic a time or two, it worked without a hitch.

Removing Eggman's vulnerability during his entrance changed the boss in that now it actually takes effort (just a little) to beat him up, but nothing silly.

Was this worth the ordeal to root my phone and pay $2.99? Absolutely. At least it's on my account for when I get a better Android phone.

    Great job, Team Stealth Tax!

I'd love you much more if you guys sneaked in the UFOs as an easter egg. :v:

That's not going to help much. (Oh, and the iOS version is still called just Data.rsdk) The file format has definitely changed, and I assume the encryption as well because it would've been stupid to keep it the same if they wanted the rest of the secrets to remain a secret for awhile. At the very least, the file structure appears to be stored differently. If my assumption is correct, there are probably 322 files in Data.rsdk for the iOS version.

Unfortunately, all of my devices compatible with this game are on the latest version of iOS where there isn't a jailbreak available, and that is what I had to do to get RAM dumps from iOS Sonic CD. So I won't be able to help for the moment, which is disappointing because I'm interested in seeing what else has changed.

    Beats me.
This is a great remake, but I'm having one issue that I find annoying because it keeps happening to me, on Spring Yard Act 2.
I keep getting stuck in there and unable to get out.
I can't take screen shots any other way, my phone pauses the game whenever I try to.

Just like the console version, just jiggle the thumbstick left and right like crazy. It should eventually dislodge Sonic.

...I don't think I ever had to do that in the console version.

I remember that, when Sonic got stuck like that, he usually passed through the offending spring and stood on solid ground... for some (I believe) as of yet unexplained reason.

making cool music no one gives a shit about
I adore the remastered soundtrack. Everything sounds so open and crisp and clear and "oomph-y". Major kudos on that especially. I'm enjoying this rerelease very much and I'm definitely gonna be picking up Sonic 2 when it hits. We better see Sonic 3K too eventually or I'm gonna flip out, haha.

    Same.

Anyway I found that one time waggling the thumbstick worked, but the other time I couldn't get out no matter what I tried until pausing the game did something to the momentum that allowed me to free myself.
