Sonic 1 and 2 getting the Sonic CD treatment by Taxman and Stealth

I don't remember Mystic Cave Zone having vertical looping.

 

Ya that's what I thought I heard.

 

I recall modding Chemical Plant one time and having that issue. It's not that the level vertically wraps around, it's that the game doesn't process the bottom of the level properly that way -- it treats it like any solid ground.

 

What gets me about the Mystic Cave Act 2 pit is that the two pits right next to it have a way of escaping.

 

That's because if you're quick enough, you can pull the vine to lower the bridge and still jump into the spike pit so even with a spring there's no way out.

 

You guys better not be calling for a fix for that. That was part of the game, not a glitch. Albeit, it was a nuisance, but it was there deliberately. :|

 

Well, no. It needs fixing. Either by removing the spikes so it's just a bottomless pit or by providing a route of escape. Especially when you're playing as Super Sonic and literally just have to wait around until such a time when your rings supply runs out. I don't see any reason not to make the pit kill you faster.

 

That's a pretty good point, I forgot about that exploit. At this point though, the topic of whether scenarios such as this will be "fixed" is entirely speculation. It's an interesting topic though since it's pretty much maybe one of two (if I'm forgetting any) locations throughout the whole game that are notorious.

I remember earlier someone pointed out a promo for the iOS release of Sonic 1 said the game had 7 zones, has there been an update on that, or are they just counting Final Zone?

Just as mysteriously as it vanished, the Original iOS Sonic 1 has resurfaced on the App Store.

Bummer, I thought they were going to get that release taken care of.

 

Same thing with StH 2, that vanished then reappeared yesterday.

 

It's out now! I'm downloading it as I type! Interestingly the icon used is identical to the one used in that fake a week ago.

Also, the update description includes "Unlockable Characters"

To me, the remastered songs sound just like the original, so don't get too excited unless there is something else I haven't discovered yet.

 

Can't seem to find anything for it on Play Store for Android. I'll have a look later on.
