Sonic 1 and 2 getting the Sonic CD treatment by Taxman and Stealth

The only extra thing I can ask (and surely pay for) is Dust Hill Zone. It's my favorite scrapped level after HPZ. If HPZ still counts as a scrapped level :specialed:/>/>

And talking about HPZ, there is a small detail I miss from the final version (apart of the option to change the music, but that has been already discussed :v:/>/> ). It's the emerald object, all of them are blocking springs but (correct me if I am wrong) none of them is blocking a pipe like the level icon. I was expecting to see that used somewhere in the level, and specifically here:



Since it's a part from the original level layout and the place looks very similar to the icon. I don't know if someone already mentioned this?

 

I'm left wondering since the interview with Craig Stitt, since he implied the Taxman variant was pretty accurate to the original planned version outside a few bells and whistles such as the added boss. Perhaps some of the new changes and gimmicks were based on resources handed to the team like the discovered R2 stuff.

Said interview also said that desert and forest levels were practically ready, suggesting there may be stuff existent of them somewhere in SEGA's vaults that a reimagining could be made out of.

 

Know what would be fantastic? If they put these games on PC so I could play with a controller on a TV or monitor.

Also, is there a scanline option?

 

You could always get some cheap android box that has hdmi out and a bluetooth controller.

 

Late to the party on this stuff but still fascinating in regards to the Egg Gauntlet and Proto Palace (aka original Hidden Palace). I just love the way that variation of boss rush was put together in EG. As for the whole Proto Palace, the fact that it's accessible now; it felt like I took step back in time to the days when Hidden Palace Zone was all fresh to us. Good stuff

Any Sonic 3K iOS news from Stealth and Taxman at E3 this year?

 

Didn't all of the Taxman ports get announced during PAX anyway? I recall that being the case for Sonic CD 2011.

 

We may still be counting our chickens before they're hatched anyway. Just because they made a cool nod in the S2 port doesn't mean they're obligated to make the next game, it could have just been an easter egg for the retro fans out there.

 

Well I had a hope and it was squashed. Oh well.

 

A Sonic 3 & Knuckles port was already hinted at long before then.

Don't look at me, even I don't know what's going on here, but I can take a pretty educated guess.

Calling it: Taxman and Stealth are in the discussion stages of Sonic Boom games for mobile.

 

I see it more as "if Sonic Booms sells well, then all the more reason for Sega to let other Western Sonic projects see the light of day".

An actual, factual new "old" 2D Sonic game maybe (inb4 Project Sonic Retro)?

If Boom sold better than the mobile games, wouldn't that hint them towards making less 2D and more 3D?
