Hmm strange so they were planning a SA2B multiplayer at some point? Wait don't you fight both sonic and diablon in one of the storys?

Sure go nuts I want to see amy, cream, or knuckles with gunzzzz!

 

I think it may have just been Sonic as a skin, instead they went for the Shadow robots. probably because multiplayer involevd guns and Sonic is against the use of firearms.

You also do fight both, but you only have to defeat Diablon, when you do that, the stage ends and you're meant to assume that in some out of sight scene, Shadow ripped the effing hell out of Sonic, leaving him laying on the floor on his front.

How do I do that? How do I aquire such an unused level? Seriously, I don't know. Let me read back, maybe that will give me an idea. Oh, and are these levels from the GC version?

 

Extract everything from iso, put these files in stg0100 directory and rebuild iso.
Yes, everything was done on gamecube version.

 

I don't have a copy of this game to do it for you, but if anyone wants AR codes to swap the files using the real thing (without burning a disc) you can follow my guide here:

Of course, this would require that you have some method of running my disc browser application. You may be able to run that in an emulator to get the values you need, I'm not sure.

There is almost nothing I can do to fix this without more or less complete format specs. And I doubt if 100% accurate *.one packer is even possible.
In other words, I am done with that. I am not going to waste my time anymore on this alone. If anyone can help me figuring out formats - welcome to PM (I almost sure that nobody will, but why not ask anyway).

Softman/Total already said that the model swapping works with characters with similar skeletal structures. so only characters like sonic can be swapped and not ones with an unusual skeletal structure like maria.

Though it would be cool, no one seems to know how to break the formats to make such a thing possible or even if they know haven't seen this topic yet.

 

Not exactly. The game does not care much about skinning info of the meshes. In other words, everything will be loaded without problems. But the end result will be...well, not the one you expected.

 

This is both nifty and hysterical. Excellent job to Total and all those involved.

I admit it would be nice to swap characters with others ! Even though I'm not THAT hysterical of playing a Sonic that skate like Shadow... It could be fun in the first place, but that's it, but still the find is pretty impressive ! I could never have thought that something like that could work so well, even in the cutscenes, it is definitely impressive !

2011 hack of the year ? If some more work is made like swapping levels and making a real structured hack like making another "Sonic the hedgehog" game, yeah, it'll be for sure ^^

But for now, I like to play as regular characters in route 101/280/Kart in SA2 better

I ever-so-vaguely recall Gerald and Eggman each appearing only briefly as full-body models: (currently slogging through Youtube clips to verify)
Gerald when summarizing a mission or two aboard the ARK, and Eggman during the final story's in-game cutscenes.\

Edit: I could've sworn Gerald appeared somewhere in-game outside of that ol' sepia-tone image. Am I going crazy?...
