There's a lot of discussions and history about Sonic X-treme that will be lost forever now that Senntient is closing its doors to Sonic related content this December in preparation for a new website dedicated to streamlining Chris Senn's new business dedicated website that's on the way.
Its really sad to see the doors close.

Yes, we should archive it the fastest we can. There are tons of info there.

The older forums which is kinda hard to navigate around in has much more info than the newer one, as this is when Senn and many community members were super active.

I tried to open it when offline, and the links don't seem to function.

It's definitely important that we get a functional archive of that site. Perhaps we could ask Senn?

  8. I had ChrisHighwind download it and everything appears to be working.

You didn't happen to be attempting to open in right from the .zip file were you >->.

I opened the index directly from within a folder using internet explorer. I disabled my network connections so as to not get linked to the website while in online mode.
He check it while the network connection was disabled?

  10. As of this point he hasn't gotten back but I did open it with my network disabled and it was fine.

Are you able to navigate threw out the forums in its entirety ?

  12. I should have been more thorough.

It appears only the first thread works offline. The rest do not.

Anyone else can have a crack at it or is there something that I need to do specifically?

Senntient is profoundly important as an archive and treasure trove of Sonic Xtreme data. Agreed that we should archive and preserve it ASAP.

Chris could've gave us more of a heads up then "sites closing lol dun care anymore u have less then a month 2 bak everything up gud luk". He clearly saw how important this forum was to us as fans.

We need something like how SoniC CulT is set up, a full archive sitting on a server that can be accessed anytime.

  17. For reference, how much has archive.org got of the site already? Hopefully this can be helpful in regard to prioritization.

I'm big into preservation, but I honestly don't care about a bunch of HTML pages. The internet archive can handle those.

What I would quite like to have is the Sonic X-treme video and music files, which aren't on that website anymore. The graphics have been mirrored on Sonic Retro for years - I believe those are the only pieces of the puzzle missing. I don't want to be pointing to YouTube versions if we don't have to.

After that I'll probably set about a nice big cleanup of everything X-treme related on the wiki.

As important as the actual game resources are, there's a lot of important information and research on those pages. Its definitely important that we get a full backup somehow.
