My girlfriend just pointed this one out to me: From 1:20 it becomes a Space Harrier spoof for a bit. Looks like they ripped the score board part of the hud straight out of the game. Then again I'm convinced the run cycle animation just before the Space harrier scene is traced from a Gorillaz video.

Inspiration perhaps or maybe even same animator but I doubt.

This episode alone was shocking enough with Sonic, but then the killer Mosquitos? I have a fear of bees thanks to this show!

One just occurred to me, not sure if it's been mentioned yet. In The Lost World: Jurassic Park, when Ian Malcom is trying to convince his daughter that staying at her step-mom's for the summer won't be so bad, she responds, "She doesn't even have Sega! She's such a troglodyte." "Cruel, but good word use." This was 1997, so what would that be? Sega Saturn? EDIT: Also, in the Futurama episode "Spanish Fry": "Fry! What in Sega Genesis happened to you!?"

The rest of the animation looks terrible compared to that one part, looks like shameless ripping off to me which wouldn't be something new in the British trance scene.
Apart from being the most awesome episode ever, it's also the most awesome game setup ever. The World God Only Knows, episode 12. SAGA SATURN and Cream cast. Later on in the episode there's a Mega Five. It's hard to think of a console not mentioned/spoofed in this episode.

Since you liked the pictures so much, here's a video: They really put a lot of detail into modelling the consoles and controllers at different angles. Again, it's hard to think of a console, or even a console peripheral, that isn't shown/spoofed in this. Also, I would've included only related shots, but I'm crossposting elsewhere and didn't feel like rendering two separate videos.

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but Mordecai and Rigby from Regular Show own a Master System: http://www.segabits.com/?p=8540

In the Futurama episode "A Bicyclops Built for Two", all of them are playing a game online, where Fry rolls into a ball to get through a tight passage. A reference to either Sonic or Metroid.
I remember one topic on the General Discussion showed off this video a while ago. A SEGA-like logo appears. Credit to who posted that thread. Also, on MAD, they had a segment where they tried to find the best princess from Video Games like American Idol. Characters such as Lara Croft, Felicia, Roll, and a few other popular video game females made a quick appearance, including Amy Rose. But she didn't make the Top 3. Zelda, Peach, and Samus made it. Mario, Mega Man, Ganondorf, Bowser, and Ridley made an appearance as well. The winner though...never announced, since they took so long to actually say anything and the skit got cut off EDIT: Holy crap! Forgot! On the last episode of Code Monkeys on Season 2, one character named Todd managed to get a hold of a pregnant hedgehog, which has numerous babies of all kinds of color. Also, all the hedgehogs wore red and white shoes. He bought a hedgehog for research into his latest game "Colonic the Hedgehog," which doesn't exactly have anything to do with Sonic's gameplay, since it involved digging. Also, the ribbon appears behind the name at some point. I'm sure there's more SEGA references in that show, somewhere.
That Justice video is fucking incredible. Also UK Resistance is amazing for Sega references.
