Just a little heads-up. Team-Europe has requested I tackle an eBay auction for them. http://www.ebay.com/itm/lot-12-sega-pico-games-Lion-king-muppets-mickey-sesame-street-magic-school-bus-/280910980682?_trksid=p5197.m1992&_trkparms=aid%3D111000%26algo%3DREC.CURRENT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D14%26meid%3D427888590500629732%26pid%3D100015%26prg%3D1006%26rk%3D1%26 They said they'd pay me the bid and shipping costs n' whatnot. But besides that, since I'm apparently gonna get involved in shipping them carts anyway, I'd like some of the folks here to help me get more Pico carts. In particular, I'd like someone to donate to me to grab these carts: http://www.ebay.com/itm/OOP-SEGA-PICO-Electronic-System-LEGO-Fun-to-Build-rare-1995-Japan-only-release-/150788469369?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item231bb17279 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sega-Pico-Picture-Book-Soft-Sonic-The-Hedgehogs-Japanese-/270982066487?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f17ca3137 http://www.ebay.com/itm/SEGA-Kids-Computer-PICO-DORAEMON-NOBITA-HIMITSU-DOGU-Import-JAPAN-Video-Game-/300642366737?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item45ffae7511 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sega-Pico-Picture-Book-Soft-Kitty-Sanrio-Tanosii-Card-Zukuri-Japanese-/280812365986?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4161b8a8a2 http://www.ebay.com/itm/SEGA-Kids-Computer-PICO-ULTRAMAN-TIGA-Import-JAPAN-Video-Game-/300642366811?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item45ffae755b http://www.ebay.com/itm/SEGA-Kids-Computer-PICO-GO-GO-CONNIE-CHAN-Import-JAPAN-Video-Game-/300642366794?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item45ffae754a http://www.ebay.com/itm/SEGA-Kids-Computer-PICO-YUKAINA-MORI-NO-PAKET-Import-JAPAN-Video-Game-/360421437994?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item53eacab22a Any help on this would be appreciated.
Yeah it did seem strange that some of these early Disney-related Japanese releases weren't set for release elsewhere. Seemed like a no-brainer to me.
IMPORTANT: We got our first Copera dump among the latest ROM batch. Do we have enough technical information on it to make the ROM more emulation-compatible, at least?
It's a shame these box scans are virtually useless (without leet photoshop skillz) I get they may not have big enough scanners around but two diagonal scans at different DPI settings isn't exactly a top-class idea
?????? ??????????? ?????? [16:37] <GlitterBerri> This piece of software can't be used with Pico. Sorry. As for the software not working, I'll look into it. Gens/GS behaves like Fusion though, so...
Blah blah blah more ROMs/copypasting. The "Huckly and Lowly"Japanese ROM will probably give us a good idea how the the Japanese "Tails and the Music Maker" is gonna be. Also, the fishing game probably is designed for the Fishing Pico adapter. Time to see how difficult that is to emulate.
Exactly, Leet photoshop skillz. Or photoshop functions not widely supported by other image editors - same difference I am wrong about the DPI though - I only realised that after I'd posted it
Mm, I'd rather the full images be the ones distributed. Not everyone has £500 to throw at Photoshop, or wants to pirate it.
...developed by Zoom? (cat in the bottom left corner) I'm probably wrong but it looks way too similar Also gotta love how the game boots up into a sound test on Gens/GS (use 544:60 to get in) I can't get past the title screen, which resets itself endlessly...
What's the origin for all these download links, anyway? I've noticed that this topic lacks some of the releases, such as: A Year at Pooh Corner (Japan) Anpanman no Moshimoshi Pico Set with Soreike! Anpanman Anpanman to Denwa de Asobou! (Japan) Richard Scarry's La giornata indaffaratissima di Sandrino e Zigo-Zago (Italy) Un Giorno Di Scuola Degli Orsi Berenstain (Italy) Or this one: Any help finding these?
That was mislabeled. It's Pooh-san no Ichi Nichi. Anyhow, these are all coming from the no-intro forums. If I didn't post them it's probably because I got bogged down by a load of other things. I'm pretty certain I grabbed all the ones you mentioned though, at least.
So both Tails and Ecco Jr. are basically the US releases with the only obvious modification being the JP "Hirameki Mirai Kids" logos.
I haven't gotten around to inspecting the US Storybooks I won off eBay yet due to being busy with various Satellaview and non-Sega-related prototype matters, so apologies if I'm dragging down the speed of ROM dumping.
Also, I'm looking for my copy of Pretty Cure. I'm sure it's still in the house, probably misplaced it with some other videogames...
Super bump time! I sent Team-Europe a pretty large lot of US Pico games (if I'm counting my numbers right, it'd basically be every US retail release that wasn't dumped prior to this point, so what's left would be the Pico Sampler, alts/revisions, and prototypes/unreleaseds), plus Pretty Cure, Doremi and Cutey Honey. These should all be coming down the line soon. :D
Well, earlier in the thread there was discussion about this homemade Pico-2-Genesis adapter that Team-Europe has. As far as I'm aware, once you convert the pin out the ROM can be dumped through anything that can physically hold it - Retrodes probably recommended. You can ask Cowering or Team-Europe for more info, anyhow. The Storyware "Pages" are the real problem since basically there's no real option besides scanning them for an analog preservation. You'd just have to have good scanning equipment, and possibly a willingness to physically dismantle the Pico cart/pages.
