So Sega Forever Fixed their Shining Force 2 bug on November 6th, or at least that's when it was announced. To be frank I really, really don't care anymore but the posterity of keeping this thread documented and alive is the only thing that's convinced me to continue posting. What happened to that strongarmed advertising campaign they once had to tease new releases? That steam is gone and the ship has sailed I guess. I can't blame them. EDIT: JFC this was over a year ago:
Nice interview, but... I don't think there's anything that we didn't know in it? Unless he hadn't already revealed the specific bands that influenced him. EDIT: Maybe we didn't know about the setup he had after the Mega Drive days, but that may be it.
Awesome news! There was a leak a while back that indicated Climax was the next game so guess the leak was real.
I tried playing Sonic 1 the other day. So many of the Sega Forever ads 180 the orientation required to play the game. It's kind of stupid.
Since they got the license back, maybe they could reactivate it in the 360 and PS3 stores? Could make them more money than this.
License could be specific to platform. Frankly, ad-ridden free mobile games make a ton of money, so I doubt it'd make more than reactivating old console versions. I'd totally be down for a new PC version, but that's not Forever's department.
Yeah, Crazy Taxi on mobile got the original soundtrack and it didn't impact the 360/PS3 versions, unfortunately. Will probably check this out on lunch break, I never got to play it initially.
Does anyone know if the online features of Sonic 2 mobile were discontinued? Because Sonic 2 Classic gives me an "Unable to connect" error whenever I try to access multiplayer, leaderboards or achievements.
I own iOS afterburner climax and 360's port, the mobile version is fair but ugh, on an iphone 5 at the time it was a bit laggy and had huge loads.
Can't wait for Sega's next retro rebranding, Sega Universe. It'll launch in 2021 with Sonic 1 and Altered Beast in tow. Truly a never before seen experience!
Sega Forever seems to be dying a quiet death. Many of the mobile games are being delisted. The accompanying daily Twitter account has been inactive for over a month. Seems like this the end of another retro revival path. Shame, as their shift in focus to retro discussion has some well produced content.
