Yeap. Every one of them in fact, including: - 3D Sonic The Hedgehog - 3D Altered Beast - 3D Ecco the Dolphin - 3D Galaxy Force II - 3D Super Hang-On - 3D Shinobi III - 3D Space Harrier - 3D Streets of Rage Comin soon to a 3DS near you!
Darn it, still waiting for an Alien Storm 3D Classic :P Totally buying the shit out of 3D Super Hang-On though, plus Sonic (which would bring the number of Sonic 1s I own to 3...)
It's too bad that Golden Axe won't be getting a port, I love that game. Anyway I will get this, and once I do I'll own about 4 or 5 different copies of Sonic 1. :v: I also plan on getting Super Hang on and Streets of Rage. <3
Super Hang on, Space harrier and Galaxy Force II will be mine. When I get a 3DS anyway. Glad they are all finally on the way, and hope they have more super-scaler games on the way. Man, can you imagine Power Drift on this? Would be an an awesome headache.
....oh shit, Galaxy Force II. That completely flew under my radar. Seriously, go buy this right now. This is the first time anyone outside Japan has ever seen an arcade-perfect port. Seriously. Do it. It's great. EDIT because it was only just announced, shit
Aaaaaaaaaaand I may well have a reason to get a 3DS in the future. Have the XLs gone down in price yet? And are games significantly cheaper these days? It'd be cool if I could still run old DS homebrew as well but I'd imagine it'll be a battle between that and firmware.
Oh man, get yourselves ready everyone, we get to see SONIC 1. AMAZING. IT'S BEEN. SO. LONG. SO. MANY. DAYS. LIKE, ELEVEN OR SOMETHING. I need sleep. LACK OF SLEEP CAUSES CAPSLOCK.
Why can't they just port the Retro Engine over to 3DS? Then we could get the 3DS's full 400x240 resolution. Porting the Retro Engine to the 3DS probably would have been a lot easier than porting the original Sonic 1 to the 3DS...
Or maybe not... We can't really tell how much effort takes letting their emulator know which graphics go on top of which..
The only thing more frequent than Sonic 1 re-releases is pointing out how often Sonic 1 is re-released
The Super Shinobi II has shown up on the Japanese website, but it has only been announced (no info yet; the image is grayed out). Bare Knuckle hasn't yet; you still see a blank space in there. (Or in other words, Sega of America oopsed with that blog post and leaked the two games early.) I'm guessing we're going to have to wait for both to be announced in Japan before we see anything here...
Pretty much, at least for all the other games given a treatment like this. Still, the effect should be pretty pronounced for the super scaler stuff, even if everything is flat.
I wonder how they're planning to do the volume for the ground in Streets of Rage, and if the characters are going to look progressively closer, etc. Did the water background in Green Hill look flat?
