I was never massively 'into' SatAM or Sonic Underground. For me, they were not as Sonic-like as I was into at the time. I did enjoy watching them however, and having grown older, I can really appreciate the writing styles, and the intricate twists in the plots, and the mechanics of the story telling. No one can deny that Ben was nothing short of a brilliant writer, who inspired and entertained many young audiences with his writing.

I did not know Ben personally, in fact, I had never spoken to him before, having only heard of passing references to him through the years as a Sonic website lurker and forumer. It seems as though he had a great presence in this community, and I can see quite a lot of sadness as I look around the forums. It's really quite heart wrenching.

My condolences to his family and friends at this difficult time.

    Rest in peace, Ben.

I'm curious. Was Benjamin Hurst his real name? Becasue that isn't listed anywhere in the Social Security Death Index.

    My condolences to Ben's family.

The death index does list a Benjamin Hurst that died on 17 Jul 2010, but this individual was 90. About how old was Ben? Can we possibly have his exact date of death?

He died on August 10th I believe, but I'm not 100% sure on his age.

  5. Poor guy. He will definitely be remembered for his work.

...though I always hated Fleetway characters...

I heard about this the other day; pretty depressing. I liked his work on SatAM and how close to the community he was. I hope his family and friends are able to get through this.

Except that he had nothing to do with Fleetway, as far as I know.

Yeah let's not give me any false hope here. I've already listened to the voice mail by Pat at least 10 times hoping I misheard her despite having a 10 minute conversation with her afterwards about his death and seeing all the people posting "I'm so sorry your gone" messages on his facebook. I've even thought about calling his house but I know it won't make a difference.

Erm, yeah...wasn't implying you're full of shit. Was just pointing out he was not listed, and hence my question as to his name. Hell, Ben Hurst may just be a pen name. Or he may just not be listed yet becasue he's only been dead 25 days.
