I'm finding the debug modes in SA1, and thought it would be better to not do it all in the basic help thread. I'm trying to find any other forms of debug in the games now.

    Code (Text):
    1. E3 Trial:
    2.
    3. Debug 1:
    4. 2C753CBC
    5.
    6. USA Version:
    7.
    8. Debug 1.0:
    9. 2C752BDC
    10.
    11. Debug 1.1:
    12. 2C756C5C
    13.
    14. JAP Version:
    15.
    16. Debug 1:
    17. 2C75B740
    18.
    19. PAL Version:
    20.
    21. Debug 1:
    22. 2C752B1C
    23.
    24. SA1 International Version:
    25.
    26. Debug 1:
    27. 2C75455C
    28.
    29. Set it to 00 to turn on, and FF to turn off.
If you would like to help, please download these savegames, and start searching.

Wasn't the Sonic Adventure debug mode already known of? I recall using a Codebreaker to access it several times a few years back.

Yes it was, but we only have the address for the US version of the game. I'm trying to find it for the other regions, and try to find another debug as well. If you would rather me just put it into basic help thread were it was before I don't care. I just thought this would be easier for Evilhamwizard and me to work on this in a separate topic.

Well no, I have no problem with it; I was just a bit confused is all. By all means, feel free to do as you please. :)

Interesting. There's no debug mode that I've found in DX that quite matches this, although that could be because they took like 99% of the debug code out of the final version...is there anything else interesting in this version?

Not so far. I still need to check the PAL version, but so far it's in every version I tried. I'm updating the first post with the Japanese address.

There are some more screenshots over at Sonic Cult of what debug mode in Sonic Adventure is like.

Alright so I found the same debug in every known version of the game. Now I'll try to find another form of debug.

Wait, every known version except DX, or including DX?

I apologize to thread-jack, but just a quick question: besides the title screen (one is solid, one is wavy), what are the differences between 1.0 and 1.1? I have copies of both versions, but I can't figure out the differences. I would imagine just bugfixes and stuff, but any specifics?

This thread is for the Dreamcast versions, so probably not DX.

I'm sure I used this code in the PAL Dreamcast version back when the Dremcast was still a current console. :psyduck:

    All the bitches.
There are a few camera angle changes, and object changes. Very small differences.

And speaking of version numbers, SA1 confuses the hell out of me. The USA version I'm not sure of, because I cannot find a GDI rip of it. I believe the number I gave is correct though.

    Code (Text):
    1. E3:
    2. Version            V1.000
    3.
    4. International:
    5. Version                    V1.003
    6.
    7. USA:
    8. Version                     V1.005?
    9.
    10. PAL:
    11. Version                    V1.003
    12.
    13. JAP:
    14. Version                    V1.007

How does that work, why is the JAP version the newest, and E3 the oldest? E3 came after the USA release, and how are the PAL and International the same version?

Double post, but I did something useful, in case someone wants to help with this.

I made a completed savegame for every region/version of the game. Oddly, the PAL game and International also use the same savegame, which goes along with my last post were I said they had the same version numbers.

In Demul, select the region savegame you need as a VMS.

Analog stick let's you move around at the height you are, and holding the X button I believe it was let's you rise or lower. B button resets Sonic to start position, A turns it off.
This is as close to the SADX debug I can find so far. It's only an action, he has the same on in SADX PC. The DC version has less actions, as this is action 83, it's 87 in DX.

Set this address to 83 in the NTSC-J game.

Enabled something relating to loading the cutscene characters.
