Can we start Yelling at Sega about this practice yet?

 

If this was going to be halfassed, DX should have been included in the 800 point pricepoint.

 

Sega is giving out free download codes on the hour on Facebook, keep an eye peeled.

 

I'll wait for the PSN version. What with not having a 360 and all.

 

can someone who bought the game on the 360 and has hacking capibalities check to see if the DX "Upgrade" is really just locked away?

 

Well, I had more leftover points than I thought, so it's downloading as I type this.

EDIT: Not bad so far. I'm thrilled to be able to use the whole Free Camera + Dual Analog combo. I know SADX (GCN) had it, but the C-stick was a terrible analog stick.

Guh, the guy who got code #3 somehow managed to type it in under 1.5 seconds after it was posted. I call shenanigans.

If I don't get it with a code, I doubt I'll bother with it at all. I've already got the DX version for GameCube, so why bother with a re-release for anything other than achievements?

 

Consistent frame-rate and draw distance, a higher resolution, and some allegedly enhanced textures?

Unless you're of the purist persuasion.

 

Gamecube/PC has all of those in spades. Hell they even removed half of the DX features just so they could charge more for the mission mode. The only reason I'd ever even think of buying this is if they released a huge sonic level pack with like 10 new levels. But they won't.

 

The demo was alright. I might get this, since I don't have the Gamecube version anymore.

 

Are you joking? The Gamecube version choked up more than the original.

 

I could ask the same of you. My 1500+ hours of experience with the game tells me that the GC version is superior in just about every way except the stage lighting, and a few porting mishaps (there is a hole in Lost world Act 2 that was fixed in the DC version). But the performance? Hell no the performance on the GC version is insane compared to the DC version. GC runs at a constant 60, whereas the DC is capped at 30 and never goes above that.

(PC version is the absolute best though, but that's a given)

 

I hate to break it to you, but a spoiled tween girl with an iPhone has a better chance at sniping one of those codes than any of us.

 

I missed the last one by a couple milliseconds. I swear, the time it took me to copy it from Facebook (which I did within a couple seconds of it being posted, as I was F5ing for a good 10 minutes), paste it into the code redemption field, and hit "Redeem" could not have been more than a second.

Damn, people are FAST.

 

...Why does anyone care about the DX stuff? The only worthwhile thing is the Metal Sonic skin.

 

I've got $20+ in Microsoft Points, I think I'm going to pick it up after I've killed enough time in Halo Reach. Probably not the DX Mission packs though.
