Some Differences I noticed In HTZ 2, the area that contains the invincibility in the earthquake room is blocked off In HTZ 2, there is an annoying flame badnik right at the beginning of the level Different Special Stage Layouts and Palettes In MCZ 1, the invincibility in the rotating box area is an extra life In CNZ the crushing blue platforms number significantly more than in the final In EHZ 1, whilst doing a speed run, you fall through one of the loops and die The WFZ laser destroys the spiked platforms Slow Silver Sonic in DEZ Invincibility stars are different, and mess up at weird angles. There are some extra platforms in ARZ
The Crocodile enemy is still in the game in its rightful object ID, 4E. But it seems its art for it was deleted.

In the 2 player mode, there is no time limit for second player when the first is at the signpost. Also, when you have invicibility, and get the place swich monitor, you don't keep the invicibility (nor the second played gets it), but the music still plays. Edit: ALSO, the eggman monitor does nothing. EDIT2: ALSO, when first player is at the signpost, and second gets the swich monitor, the 1st player wins instantly.
I am making a disassembly of this Beta (10% done). (Restoring lost levels in asm is more easy than hex).

Just some differences in case anyone missed them... This spring was added in the final. Whoa, that's a lot of rings... some of these apparently moved over here: as those are absent in the beta. For whatever reason, there is an extra hornet enemy here... in the final they removed it probably because it flew over just at the right time for Sonic to hit it just about all the time. Also, the often used "look up" and "look down" don't work in this beta for whatever reason, I'm not sure if they work in any of the others as this only concerns beta 4.

2-player Time Over plays Wing Fortress Zone music. Also, the 2-player special stages do not allow Sonic and Tails to switch lead positions by jumping. Tails can only go in front of Sonic if Sonic hits a bomb.
