From what I've seen, the filesystem isn't all that difficult to work with. Plug the USB cable into your PC and you can access it that way, plus there appears to be several free file managers on the Play store that don't require root access. That should have you sorted as far as organizing files.
This one is cool: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Archos-Tablet-Processor-Storage-Android/dp/B009EPMYMY Comes with a keyboard, good spec, decent price, expandable, HDMI out. It ticks all the boxes for me - also stock android. Anyway, speaking as a guy who has a collection of these bastards... the iPad is better. That's the only one I use for personal stuff - all the others are just for work really.
Okay, why is it that no fucking shop near me actually sells a USB OTG cable? They appear to sell every other cable but that! I don't know how long these cables have been around for but surely you'd expect all brick-and-mortar shops to carry them.
Welp, ordering from Amazon with Express Delivery sure helped me out. Apart from when I ordered another cable earlier out of a desperate rush to get one delivered to me by tomorrow only to check my order later on and discover that I ordered one with a Mini-USB connector instead - *not* what I wanted! *Sigh* Will just have to receive it then send it straight back for a refund. I have a question to ask btw: has anyone ever registered their Nexus tablet, or indeed any tablet? I'm wondering if there are any catches involved such as whether rooting the tablet will void my registration and/or warranty. I'd quite like to know as soon as possible so that I can determine whether it'll be okay for me to root this thing.
Oooooh, a bit of Googling actually uncovered this handy tidbit: Root your Nexus 7 without unlocking the bootloader (and in turn wiping the device and voiding warranty) Not that I've given it a go yet, but this sounds right up my street! Of course, perhaps I should play around with the tablet a bit more before I go ahead with this.
Nexus 4!? Uhm... my WiFi Nexus 7 was $250 (and I could've done better by ordering online), so $300 does seem a mite high.
That's what's on the Play Store now. 16GB Nexus 4 is $299. The 16GB Nexus 7 wifi model is $199. I'm guessing the smaller screen and HSPA+ radio justifies a $100 difference in price...? The 32GB HSPA+ Nexus 7 is also $299. But I seem to remember everything being cheaper before. The Nexus 4 isn't even a 4G phone, either. I would get the LG Spirit 4G through MetroPCS, but the 4G service is rather shitty. Blegh.
