It's a Sonic-themed puzzle. One of the few Sonic merchandise I could find and buy back in the day!

I mostly got them because some of them feature illustrations from the 1992 calendar—like the ones with the backgrounds where he’s on a bike, holding flowers, and holding a helmet.

I hope that one day me or someone else can get that 1992 calendar to get bigger pics of the first three illustrations.

Yeah, that's a rare one. Sucks about the dates bring on the illustrations, but at least for that one it's a little bit easier to take those out than the others.

Many of these images can be found in the Sonic and Knuckles Collection screensaver. Could perhaps use ESRGAN with a de-dithering model, upscale it, and use that to fill in the letters etc.

At first I thought the second one was Maiya or Tokyo Roof but then I saw pics of them and they were nothing like the building in the artwork.

I went through the Sega World pic locations in the wiki but saw nothing that looked like it. Unless it's one that we don't have pics of?

And maybe the last one is more of an amalgamation of other locations?

I reckon the second piece might be partly inspired by Sega's own Haneda headquarters buildings at the time - a more exaggerated, metropolitan version of them, in any case

That VirtuaLand piece is lovely. The old low res image of it was so small that I didn't even realise it had the two twin R360 and AS-1 setups (both also true to real life) in it too until now.

What's the deal with the oversized Eggman in some of those illustrations?

I'm guessing they're supposed to be statues and inflatables, but they look oddly placed. The entrance to Virtua Land didn't have Eggman decoration there IRL.

I think it is supposed to be Eggman just in the background, and he's just wearing a inflatable suit to look like a balloon in the Sep-Oct image.

Also, someone just let me know the original scan files are a bit small. I'm looking at them on my end and they have the right sizes.

Not sure what's happening since GDrive has never done that before.

Right now I had to take a trip to LA because of the fires but once I'm back I'll check what happened and rescan them if I need to.

It might be because I had to use a scanner at a Staples since the calendar is just a little bit bigger than the one I have.

High quality scans of Richard Elson's Sonic art? Sign me up.

Does the archive only contain pin-ups from the main StC title, or does it also contain Sonic the Poster Mag's, well, posters?

Thanks for this incredible work !

The poster of issue 115 has always been a favorite of mine. I've scanned it 10 years ago to make a print and frame it.

So much charm, and nostalgia, in these pieces...

I do have one poster mag - The Shinobi one, but haven't scanned it.

I've also scanned in every STC cover I've got as well - which is most of them from 1 to 184, but need to figure out where to put them on here. Lot of work!

And I'm working through my Archies as well. All at 600dpi.

I've collected a significant number of issues years ago of Sonic the Comic, I can't remember which issues I'm missing, but it's quite a slim number.

I have no idea if all the pinups are in there, I haven't checked through them all for some time, is there a list of what's needed?

I also have two original pencil and ink front covers from the later years, signed Richard Elson, donno if anyone's interested in a scan of that?

    Here's some old photos:

Barcodes! It's such a silly thing but it'll be nice to replace the main covers floating around where these were removed.

There's also just little differences with the digital versions of stuff too, even with out that. Take for example: Sonic Quest!

    cover01sm.jpg cover02.jpg

There's also some iterations too - There are "Direct Edition" versions which say so on the barcode, and then also some will have both the US & CAD prices.
