This might have been posted in this topic, dunno: https://info.sonicretro.org/File:Sonic_LabyrinthZone_Art.jpg Where's this from?
A Sonic puzzle from about 1992/93. In the Sonic 1 and 2 Official Player's Guide I scanned about a year ago, look at the last 2 pages with the Sonic merch. It's there. Edit: Here is a cropped pic. Was at work when I originally posted.
Sorry if this has already been addressed, but does anyone know where these Little Planet artworks are from? Because knowing the sources may help us get better scans: I know SonicGenesis89 gave us this awesome scan, but sadly the art is obstructed in that version.
It's not a double standard. It's a completely separate context. Random wristwatch art of Sonic in a cape with a sword is not comparable to an entire Sonic video game being based on the concept of Sonic wielding a sword in a dark and serious fantasy setting. I don't actually care one way or the other, but people who dislike Black Knight have every right to think it's dumb.
Dark and serious? I mean, most of the cutscenes had Sonic interacting with his snarky talking sword, or with Arthurian characters played by Sonic's friends. The game hardly took itself seriously; it was aware of the concept's ridiculousness and played with it.
If so that's fine. From advertisements it seemed just as dark and serious as other games of the era. I never played it. Regardless, my point is that the context of those things are not comparable.
And the watch is also ancient, given that it still uses the SegaSonic The Hedgehog name. And also this is in a topic called Rare Art - do you legit think anyone here had seen this before it was posted in here? Or anyone who was around for both that watch and Black Knight? lol
I found an official vector for the Sega Fes 2019 logo: https://segaretro.org/File:SegaFes2019_logo.svg Not sure it can be classed as "rare" yet, but it borrows design elements from the Japanese box art for Sonic 3 and Sonic Jam, and I don't think that pose has been used anywhere else.
