So the PS1 version of a missing X68000 Sonic fangame has Sonic recoloured red, and Techokami had found the original blue palette still lying around in the executable. So, by using a hex editor to overwrite the red palette with the blue one using the addresses Techo had posted, I have restored Sonic's original colour from the X68000 version. Download (must run it in ePSXe or any other PS1 emulator)
For those who really hate Sonic CD's jump sound. I'll just quote the description here: Spoiler Yes I know the bit about the Z80 accessing the 68000's address space is a gross oversimplification, but you try explaining that kind of stuff to the YouTube comment section =P
And now that's fantastic, awesome work, Sonic CD can have a decent jump sound at last. I'm almost tempted to play Sonic CD now. Almost.
Lovely, Sonic CD's jump noise was always garbage. I wonder if anyone ever made a hack to replace the jump sound in the Taxman PC version though? That seems like it'd be a lot simpler to do/more practical than this (although this is nice).
Chaotix next??? I'm sure I read somewhere you can convert from one to the other by using sine waves instead of square and vice versa. Or maybe that's a myth. Or maybe I don't understand what I'm talking about.
^jumping and Spin Attacks in general will still be ass until someone decides to find a way to make the speed of the Spin Attack animation dynamic like the original games.
Sonic 2 "Forces Edition" Thanks to MotorRoach for the extra Tails sprites. It was also his idea, so blame him. :v: Also, thanks to Clownacy for the Sonic 2 Clone Driver, just so I could use vladikcomper's Mega PCM driver in Sonic 2 easily
I just stumbled upon this on romhacking so I figured I'd share the link since it's Sonic-related. Here's a new Super Mario Bros NES hack featuring Sonic. Look's kinda cute from the screenshots. https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/3902/ ...RedHotSonic seems to have made a cameo in it too!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OUx3ctWgc-s After two months of torturing myself and procrastinating, I have completed... Sonic 2: Forces Edition! Basically Sonic 2 except Sonic and Tails control like Classic Sonic in Sonic Forces, plus some other random jabs. Download Also... It seems I accidentally stole your hack's name. But instead of renaming it... Is there any chance we could combine these!? They'd fit together so well. :v:/>
Both Sonic 2 Forces Editions are an absolute delight to play, and definitely do a great job at pointing out the... flaws of Forces. Sonic! H E L P M E !
@Clownacy Yeah, I'm like, almost two months late, and I should've spoken up sooner. I LOVE your Sonic CD fix. That's like, 30% of my frustration when playing the game removed. If I ever play the original again, I'm definitely going to use that mod! (And yes, I know the @ thing doesn't work here. I just didn't didn't wanna quote the post. XD)
I wanted to play Ristar (Game Gear) with act 1 of "Planet Fanturn" unlocked in the US/EUR version "Planet Terra". Here is a quick and clean hack for this. Maybe it is worth sharing. Ristar Complete (Game Gear)
This is my passion project. It's called "Blaster The Hedgehog". Right now, it looks like "Blaster In Sonic 2", but it will soon be revolutionary (I hope).
