I like it, the boss bgm is alright.

I was rooting for the guy through the rocks part, thought he wouldn't be able to make it.

I also second the request for a rom/emu for this.

Well, the Super A'can runs on a Motorola 68000. That means that maybe a genesis emulator could be modified to emulate the system. All we need is a dump of the bios and the games and maybe someone could start one up.

It's a lot to wade through, but the original thread that I found the video link in discussed A'can emulation a bit in the middle somewhere.

Last I remember Cdoty(the Frog Feast guy) was checking into emulating the system since he acquired one himself. He just recently sold it on eBay though so he possibly gave up his research with it now :colbert: If any of the technical people here are interested I'd say give him a message and see what happened. If I recall correctly he got the bios booting, or extracted a bmp from it or something..

Edit: I forgot to mention also there is one guy on Assembler that claimed to have A'can games on floppy years ago(as in PC ports of the games, not roms). I Pmed him about it and he said he'd let me know if he ever finds them again. It's been at least over 8 months now and still nothing...

Man, that guy sure loves balls.

In all seriousness, I thought the game was kinda cool with the only problems being the bad physics and poor sound effects.

AssemblerGames? Sheesh, that's like one of the biggest bunches of hoarders you can find on the net.
They care about researching very little, it's mostly bragging about how "cool" they are for collecting dozens of similiar systems and letting nobody have them.

That's kind of a simplification; that's not everyone who visits there. If you look at their unreleased games forum, you can see there were also a lot of regulars interested in donating to help drx release Fighting Force for Saturn.

Am I really the only one who also noticed the the 'continue sign' is almost identical to Star Post signs and that the item boxes behave indentically to the Monitors in Sonic games?

Arguably SPA isn't a new game though ;P

  13. I was skeptical about the similarities until I saw the curved ramps, then the spindash, then the spring, then the scrap brain gears, then the little rod baddie.

    Yep, def' a rip off.
