    How about a "Gay" monitor. You break it and this game ceases to exist.

    I prefer the idea of holding onto multiple montiors' effects rather than using them up right at the first hit, similar to Megamix. It adds in an element of strategy and skill.

    This is especially so if getting hit and/or taking an Eggman monitor causes one to lose any unused item effects.

    I think some monitors can be stored and others can't.

    I think there should be a monitor that you pop and Badniks come out. Defeating all these badniks gives you 25 rings.

    Also, a Tails 1up monitor to bring Tails when you;'re playing Sonic Solo, or send him away.

    I was thinking a circular room, Space Odessy style, with sonic running around the edge with the boss floating in the middle in zero gravity. I'm guessing that would be a bit of a bitch to actually pull off though

    I think some level designs shoud beput onto the table to start thinking what type of game we want. The setting can help a lot here, since we're adrift.

    EDIT: Looking at the first post now, MKAmeX's work of making a different Sonic with Chaotix pallet seems to be the right direction to go. Although we could make him a mix between old and more modern style. Just the spikes and face perhaps. To make it more of a transition between old and new.

    I'd like to know who agree and who disagree about me being one of the leader team, because we definitely need to set up some teams and begin to be organised.
     
  13. Here's something I whipped up today.

    The backdrop to my concept art "Blue Mountain Zone" I posted a few pages back... the lava/ice level.

    This is actually my first attempt at doing this, so mind you I probably did quite a few things "wrong". The lava needs the most work I think.

    But tell me what ya think.

    This isn't actually meant to have a bearing on the actual game, as detailed prose doesn't translate into games well, but a fanfiction by a friend of mine (incidentally, capturing Sonic better than most) may provide an example of how the plot informs the levels used, and how 'Eggman has a machine to destroy the world' can be a bit more interesting than that in itself. Funnily enough, it also has a below-the-Earth area, as has been theorised.

    When you're referring to Chimpo's sprites are you referring to the ones that are used in like 5 Sonic 1 hacks? I don't like those D:

    Phoebius, I think you have every right to be one of the Main team coordinators. You're the one who brought up the idea in the 1st place.

    I think a good Leader Team at the moment would be:

    Phoebius (Lead Supervisor)
    Malevolence (Lead Coordinator)

    EDIT: Resel for Lead Background Designer.

    Another thing I want to see here in Level Design. FAST levels. That's what Sonic is about, and that's how I think we should do this, a good level design with multiple paths and fast gameplay.

    I think you would be perfect. So far you have shown the ideas in which I believe this project should be. I think a team should be started in order to bring order and start the process instead of just ideas (although they are very helpful, this project does need to get off the ground).

    Resel: It looks good....but so far it's not really Sonic style so it doesn't have the right feel to it.

    I don't really think we need overly fast levels. Just about the same amount of speed seen in Sonic 2 and 3K.
