I saw someone online say that the game is broken and unbalanced in favor of Akira, because they "held block for an entire round to see what would happen, and Akira managed to hit them every time as though they weren't blocking at all"

LMAO the person admitted to telegraphing what they were doing for the entire round and leaving themselves wide open and called the game unfair. I don't think people understand the purpose of the guard button in this game lol.

The game already received a massive balance update in preparation for R.E.V.O, but the team did another big update thanks to the feedback from the beta test. Several characters received adjustments and fixes. Like fixing this lovely gem.

I keep running into this Goh player that is demolishing me online. He's super diligent about all the down attacks so I have to constantly roll away as soon as I land or he'll finish the round in just a few moments. I keep getting matched up with him, I've only won one set against him in like 4 tries.

Made it to 3rd Dan before I had to call it a night.

I could only play it for a bit but there are certainly issues compared to the beta. Matchmaking has been a mess for my friends and I. We're constantly matched against people with poor connections despite setting the filter to best and only accepting green connections. 10f Rollback and 200+ Ping matches are more common than we would like. We're either fighting King Crimson or underwater. It's not just a me problem either as I've seen others in the fighting circle comment about the poor online.

Matchmaking also constantly breaks if a connection fails to establish after accepting a match. You can fix it by exiting ranked and reloading, but then you also run into the possibility of the black screen freezing bug. The only way out is to quit the game.

I already saw it coming but it's a shame that they decided to keep the limited customization options of Ultimate Showdown. Really wished they brought it all back.

When the it works (good connection, other side isn't using a potato as their Personal Computer), it works flawlessly. After the good impression the beta made (and how the beta worked just fine during the closure :ssh:), I had high hopes that final launch would be smooth sailing. I guess it wouldn't be a proper modern game launch if it didn't shit the bed at launch.

We would like to inform you about the details of the upcoming Ver.1.01 update for "Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O." which is scheduled to be patched in the near future.

    Update details for Ver.1.01
    • Introduced "Matching range" to matchmaking settings
    • Options: "Same Area" and "Worldwide."
    • Some effects are now skipped for Ranked rematches
    • Adjusted the default volume for first-time game launches
    • Handling accounts on the Ranking with fraudulent values
    • Other minor bug fixes
I'm glad they're didn't just dump the game out to die.

I gotta be honest though, I'm upset at the response from the general community. Game has a mixed reception on Steam right now. A lot of the networking complaints are valid (God knows I'm on the worst receiving end) but there's a lot of noise being made over the customization options and little consideration given to the massive balance patches, the rollback netcode, and the otherwise excellent port for $16 bucks.
