No. The whole thing doesn't need to be one huge blur. It's perfect the way it is.

And I'll fix the freaking E sometime soon. Not today.

  3. I didn't say "preheat oven to 350°, take the Blur tool, and, with broad, sweeping strokes, slowly obscure the whole thing until unreadable, makes 3 servings." I said "a few intermediate colors in-between the ones that are already there. I'm offering some positive, constructive criticism and it was even seconded by someone else, and you're just saying that there's absolutely no room for improvement. Sorry to disagree with you <_<

The SONIC letters are still a bit off both in shape and coloring. There shouldn't be another clear brown color between the dark brown and the white, for example. It was just used as antialiasing in the original.

I didn't mean for it to sound that way. I just feel that adding more of a gradient will make it into one big blur. I can try doing it to a couple letters when I have time, or someone else can try it for me. I just don't think every single thing needs to blend...edges aren't a sin.

    Be my guest.

hmm... I'm not sure, SHOULD he fix that last "E"? I mean, is it best to leave a mistake in, or is it best to fix it?

So I think it was a mistake in the Sonic 2 "hedgehog"...

    He should fix it.

I will post a comparison when I have the chance to change it, but why don't you give it a try?

To tell you the truth, I don't like to use Illustrator...I mean, I use PS for almost all things I do... n.nU and your file is a .ai =P...

Okay, so I thought "Hey, I wanna contribute."

    And I did.

I don't know if this looks that good, but it's the only font that looked like the original. If it's good enough, I could go and do a Miles one.

Hmm, in the original, the text look like it's sunk into the background rather than standing proud of it. The shadow you are using makes it look like it's standing proud oddly.

...That's still standing out instead of being sunk.

I couldn't get a decent liquid transformation, but here's the original.

If anyone wants to use that, it's pretty basic, feel free.

Id like to point out that the original is ambigious.
You guys are complaining the new attempt is not sunken in...

However it depends how you view the shaded region in the original, you can look at it extruded or sunken.
This is because the shadow is slighty distant providing a break in it at the edges- therefore focusing on the "break" will destroy the illusion that its sunken in, and vice versa.

Furthermore, for me, the existance of a break proves that it is a shadow and ergo the text isn't sunken in.
(I am assuming the orginal posted above is the correct S2 original for my comments)

All in all, it doesn't really matter, just whatever looks best.

Okay, to be truthful, I can't exactly find the effect or filter that makes the text look sunken in Photoshop 7, so I can't produce that effect on my own. However, I tried to make the text as noiseless as I could.

I think it looks as it did on regular Sonic 2, but that's just me.
