I think the sub boards should go by developers rather than series if we decide to make a subforum for certain different Sega games. That narrow's the catagories down a little and still broadens what can be talked about in these subforums.
All I can hope for is that the batshit-crazy Sonic fans on the forum don't drive away the more level-headed Sega fans that are drawn to the site by the new Wiki. Seriously, the Sonic 4 thread is the biggest travesty on any forum I've ever seen and I know the management is taking steps to lower the level of stupidity but it's extremely hard to do given the volume of posts. Trying to keep up with that thread is like picking ant shit out of a jar of pepper with boxing gloves on. It's fucking impossible. If Sonic fans could be a little calmer with their excitement/rage/disappointment, we'd be all the better for it.
Somebody hasn't been in the sonic scene long enough. :P It is bad, but more so in the drivel / nonsensical form of bad, not outright travesty. For that, do dig around in the archive.org records of some of the old SOSTH/A51/SSRG stuff. The only thing about SEGA Retro I may be concerned about is the name/site, only because of the whole SEGASonic.net thing that happened many years ago. Having the company's name (SEGA) in any of our URLs is just asking for trouble, in my humble and semi-informed (semi-paranoid) opinion.
SEGA knows we exist and haven't pulled the plug on SonicRetro, I don't think they'll blast us over their company name. Besides, free advertisment, amiright?
AVGN quotes FTW :specialed: Seriously, though, good riddance to the accursed thread forever! That thread was the sespool of the Sonic scene. I really don't care about eyelid color, and, guess what? Most of the Sonic scene does not! Weird, right? And, again, I LOVE SegaRetro!
And at least attempt to spell words right... "sespool" should be "cesspool." The problem with the thread was that it revealed too much... And nobody likes lawyers on his or her tail...
Anyways, back onto topic of Sega Retro, I started a Jurassic Park Rampage Edition Article that will be expanded upon in the future and also several subtopics for the prototype builds that were released in the February 23rd release will also be eventually added.
Thank you for posting this Scarred Sun, I actually found this very informative and helpful. It actually helped me to put everything into perspective and realize that whether or not that new Sonic game is good or not does not cause the end of the world. Also I do respect all the effort you mods go through to sift through the junk on these forums on a daily basis. Without mods, it is obvious this forum would hit rock bottom pretty quickly. I am very interested in the new Sega Retro. Seeing hacks and people delving deep into old Sega games sounds really cool. I am really excited about what might be coming around the corner for this site.
