Offsets for changing Sonic's start position

    I haven't really seen any guides to chaning Sonic's start positions in Sonic 1, so I will give you the offsets for each act (Version 1 Only!):


    GHZ1: $6112
    GHZ2: $6116
    GHZ3: $611A

    MZ1: $6132
    MZ2: $6136
    MZ3: $6139

    SYZ1: $6152
    SYZ2: $6156
    SYZ3: $615A

    LZ1: $6122
    LZ2: $6126
    LZ3: $612A

    SLZ1: $6142
    SLZ2: $6146
    SLZ3: $614A

    SBZ1: $6162
    SBZ2: $6166
    SBZ3: $612E

    FZ: $616A

    You're way off. Those values are slap-bang in the middle of Sonic's patterns. The character start location array is at $6112. It's like a double offset index with two numbers per act. The first value is the X value, the second is the Y value.

    Woops, sorry about that. I was looking at the offset on the left, which I attached on the pic. I'll fix those values.

    Ah, so those were decimal values.

    Keep in mind that offsets shall be in hexadecimal. It's easier that way.
