1.2 gigahertz C2D processor. Intel integrated graphics. "Stunning" design. .... ....... $2000. That's right. Two grand. Two thousand smackers. (US dollars.) Makes the MacBook Air (about which I must stress that I own one, and use it regularly - I'm typing on it now) look like a good deal. I mean..... how far can you go until "expensive" turns into "overpriced"? Discuss.
... christ. I never thought I'd see the day where the MacBook Air could be considered a good value in comparison to another product.
Reminds me of that 27 inch monitor dell release a few year back that cost more than their 30 inch monitor (The 30 inch monitor has almost twice the pixels, IIRC).
Reminds me of the day when you had to fork over a good penny ($3000) just for a half-decent laptop, period. :v: With laptops at the price they are today, sales on that will only pick up in a few years when the price depreciates.
Amazing that Dell have managed to out-Apple Apple in pricing. Unlike Apple though, blind must-be-trendy-no-matter-the-stupidly-high-cost-hipsters aren't gonna buy a Dell laptop.
"A fashion accessory that computes", says Jon New. The specs are perfect, considering the laptop's target demographic is only going to use it for checking email and hosting lurid Yahoo Messenger webcam sessions.
I can easily understand where they are coming from. The battery life of the Air is poor, and honestly, that's what matters with a laptop like this. I'd rather have the ULV Core 2 Duo and integrated graphics as you know, I like to be able to use a laptop for a full working day! However, if it can't beat the Air in this department, it's pretty much got nothing :p
