It's already at almost the same level as the old one, and this one is much better. I've used it in the really early beta, and it's already better IMO. It now has click and drag for multiple items, and will actually have shortcut keys. Runs a bit faster too for me.

But really, just wait, he'd rather release a full featured editor than a buggy half finished editor.

Does NSMB Wii load anything from the SD card ever? If so, it would be possible to write SD Loader code for level editing without brining discs. (This is what is done with SSBB.) If not, I don't know.

    No, it doesn't. =3

    Edit:
    Oh the anticipation:

  5. I haven't spent enough time with NSMBW. At all. Seems like an absolute step in the right direction (ie: Forward, not down or up or left or anything). This level editor also makes my panties wet with anticipation.

Also, to avoid having to continuously burn DVDs, you could always get a dedicated thumbdrive or harddrive. The game itself was only around 300megs iirc.

There's an application to load the .arc level files from SD card now, even though a couple of days ago, it was said to be impossible =P

What'd be awesome is if this could import NSMB DS levels. I'd love to play multiplayer on some of those, even though they're not strictly designed for it. Also, a mod which adds those levels to the wii ones and effectively doubles the length of the game would be epic.

Well, it'd be stupid not to have an importer.
The formats are nearly identical, so writing a quick code to do the conversion should be no effort at all for the guy making the editor.

That's very glitchy, shitty, and can only load 1 file. A better method is already being worked on.

    Follow our gbatemp thread here.

Also, we're just about ready for a release. Just require a bit more documentation of a few things, a few bug fixes, and maybe a few more extra additions to the editor.
