I was listening to U2's "Vertigo" earlier today. I've always thought it would make a great level BGM, for something similar to Rail Canyon. I also think their "Zoo Station", and just about anything from the "Pop" album, would be great for Shadow.

Ah, if only Sega still hired big guns to score their Sonic games. I'd love to hear U2 do a whole Sonic soundtrack (with something like "City of Blinding Lights" for a city level, etc).

My favourite band is Pink Floyd, so I guess my threshold for boredom is high. :v: Of course, if U2 were hired to score a Sonic title, they would pace the new tracks to match the gameplay.

Also, "I Can't Wait" by Nu Shooz reminds me of Sonic music, and is even a little similar to Launch Base Zone in a way.

That's okay. To be clear, I did mean for a modern, Sonic Adventure style Sonic, like Next-Gen if it hadn't sucked.

This reminds me of classic Sonic, though: "Never Ceases to Amaze Me" - Split Enz

Tengu Man Stage from the Saturn version Megaman 8 OST fits Stardust Speedway perfectly.

All of the music in Sonic CD most definitely is mainly influenced by classic house music, especially 808 State. This song is no coincidence either, Naofumi(the musician) was definitely making a tribute to them when he made the D.A Garden song.

Edit: Keep screwing the musicians names wrong. I mean WTF, anyone related to the sound department of this game have "fumi" in their names. o_O

Tarkan - Bounce is a track I've just heard for the first time. My reaction? "God damn, that's Arid Sands"

Oddly enough, the boss battle themes from Chrono Trigger seem like they could fit in Megadrive Sonic games.

  14. Well, many ones. I don't remember exactly but I can talk about Metal (Megadeth's 'Hangar 18', Angra's 'Spread Your Fire', Gamma Ray's 'Last Before The Storm'), Pop (Madonna's 'Hung Up', some Michael Jackson), Classical pieces (especialy Bach's 'Brandenburg Concerto') and Punk (Ramones' 'Poison Heart'). The most recent was 'Wanna Be Startin'' Somethin' by Michael Jackson, I think it would fit perfectly on a Carnival Night style zone.

Really? to me it sounds like an Aquatic Ruin-y song to me. But that might just be THIS STUFF talking.
I still say Marble Garden's higher-pitched, foreground noises are a little too close in pattern to Mike's speech pattern in Thriller.

I'm reminded more of Wacky Workbench JP (Bad Future mix) with that lead synth, but fucking EARGASM all the same. <3

I love this sort of stuff.

EDIT: To a lesser extent, this is of a similar 90's hardcore rave vibe (which is what most of the Sonic CD JP Bad Future stuff was inspired by).
