That was very good. Good luck with learning the harmonica. You can't beat the real thing.

Back on topic, those speed changes sounded quite excellent. How feasible would that be to do in real time though? If it's not then perhaps there could just be fast versions of every stage track pre-rendered, and then switched to mid-game at an equivalent timestamp when the powerup is collected.

  3. My sisters bf is a sorta weird guy. My mom bought him a harmonica set of 5, 5 different keys I guess. He's the kinda guy who is obsessed with crossword puzzles, sudoku, rockband, and used to be in a band... The point, he will likely be proficient in due time, I'll ask him if he thinks he could do Hill Top next time I see him... Could work, who knows. :words:

It was real time as I was changing the tempo manually, so it is feasible to do as long as there is a programmer on here that could do a multi track audio program.

You have got a good idea about two different tempo versions. This might be the best that can be done without to much hassle.

Damn, that is beautiful. Also, I love his hydrocity mix. That has always been a favorite of mine.

    Needs less reverb.

I do like the Hydrocity master though!

Listening to this makes me feel like I'm playing Emerald Hill Zone for the first time again. I love it!

  12. Sahweeet! He's very good. There's some tiny things in the composition which bother me slightly, like non-existant notes which I expected to be there, and bits I would have done differently if I was him but it oozes production value. Also, he's used the old trick of increasing the pitch slightly to make it sound new, that's all that "feels like I'm playing Emerald Hill for 1st time" feeling is.

Almost Sonic CD JP quality! I am amazed this is even possible with such software.

EDIT: XD I am going to steal that climbing string intro from his EHZ. Sounds awesome and isn't even part of the original music. That shows he has that extra skill to make Sonic music.

What FL Studio? It's been possible with FL for years. What makes the difference is the plugins and knowing how to use them. Check out East West Quantum Leap plugins as they are designed to be played like an instrument. A lot of music for big films have been made with their plugins such as Lord of the Rings.

He is good and would be great if he contributed to the project but I'm not a fan of his mix of this. The main lead is what's putting me off it as it sounds too detuned and all the horns sound like quick one shots when some of them need to have sustain on them. I liked the funky guitar layered in the background and the extra score additions with the piano and strings. It would be great if extra stuff like that was put into these remasters that are going to be used in the final game.

That part is precisely what I don't think would fit so good as in-game music, as it changes the pace completely.

That's a problem I noticed with some of the tracks in Smash Bros Brawl. Most of them are great for listening, but some just don't suit the frantic action that's going on the screen.

I wasn't on about adding that score to game but to point out that I think some extra score would be a bonus. Like something on the 4th loop of a stage to brake it up a bit, make the BGM sound less repetitive. I suppose that was a bad example to use to put forward the idea.

  17. You guys realise it'd be very easy to adjust the original source file to remove this exact thing?
