The saw and strings are near perfect, I'm impressed. You did a lot of good work on this mix. =D

Just make them a little louder, and I think you may have it. ^^

I think they're loud enough. They just need to have more range. Maybe try making a copy of a bottle blow track play one octave lower while a copy of a string track plays one octave higher. It might not sound good as a final product, but it'll be good to experiment with how it sounds no matter what.

It's good, but for the area for where it is intended to be placed doesn't work.

See, the other one has alot of atmosphere, and considering you're only going to be hearing the song in a short corridor, rushing to the right in three seconds to have it fade out and have the boss theme play.

The atmosphere in Blast's version would personally keep me staying to hear the song at DEZ, personally. If Death Egg Zone was longer though, I would prefer yours.

  4. I completely disagree, I think my version is suited more to the level than a monastery choir type song, which feels out of place in the game. Anyway, I think it was already mentioned that a longer version of the level might be a possibility.

Man, I still like it better without the percussion.

I love BP's version, but isn't there an instrument using the wrong octave near the end?

I'd just like to point out, seeing as Hill Top is in focus right now, that aside from steveswede's version (whichI haven't heard since none of his filedropper links seem to work for me) everyone is missing a key part of the chorus, or at the very least Remixing it...Take a listen to the original game's Hill Top chorus, and you'll find that the high pitch double notes (FA FA EG (rest) x4 are the notes) are loud and very present in the original. It seems that everyone seems to want to put this harmony into the background, when it was clearly intended to be in the forefront, despite the chorus run. The notes I'm referring to kick in at 0:26 of 2:25 in the original in the chorus.

The versions are really accurate, just for this one little nitpick. Keep up the great work guys, hope my comment can help!

Listening to BP's version (both of them? The one on site seems to be different from the one posted above), I really prefer blueblur's version. Just saying.

  9. Though I do see the focus songs needed to be produced ( most of the other songs are not my forte), I would like to submit my big band remix, remaster, arrangement, orchestration of Casino Night zone performed by actual players. The only problem for the moment is they did not have a bass player or actual drummer ( they used a machine.) but they have claimed they will re-record for me using a bass player and drummer.

Performed by the Nick Coats Orchestra

I would also like to submit my remaster of the ending sequence. The CG is not mine but I thought a remastered video would compliment remastered music. It is an orchestral arrangement of the ending sequence.

I approve highly of the Casino Paradise Zone performance. Here's to hoping for that real drummer, I think the performance suits the zone very well! And the recording is absolutely wonderful! I really, really approve. ^^

Sounds awesome, and would fit perfectly with the optional remixes.

I wonder if they'd be up to playing the original composition, for this project?

Real instrument remasterings like those are not only well accepted, but encouraged.
They will find place on S2HD, just be sure to export the recordings as crystal clear as possible and present them with 320kbs .OGG file format! ^^

Yes. I would love to hear a high quality version of this. (As Vincent stated we'll need a 320kbps ogg version for it to be included in the project)

I found THIS amazing remix for the Sonic 3 Special Stage. I don't know how far the first zone has been finished, but these instruments and over-all feel are perfect for Emerald Hill Zone.

Not to throw the current state of progress off-board mind you, just giving a great reference if anyone wishes to improve on the music.
