By Torm, no! This is terrible! I... I had no idea Member
I feel as if it is so epic, it isn't scary anymore. I'd love to see most instruments ditched and replaced by a simple violin.

The brass is the only thing that I don't like about this submission. Everything else sounds nice, though.

Kind of mixed responses, started with just the percussion. Added some timpani in there; I tried adding the snare in there just like the original, but it didn't sound nice, so I got rid of that.

I just love the slow background 'noise' in there, but IMO the actual sound of each note isn't 'pronounced' strong enough; I think each note needs to be 'fleshed' out, as though every note counts (ie. every note is the most dramatic note, if you know what I mean?).

Now imagine that, and then start speeding it up... and WOW would it start sounding scary! Just thinking about it is making me slightly nervous :psyduck:

ITT We try to make people even more fearful of water levels than before.

On a side note, I agree with Growler.

PS I would love it if someone made a the drowning song with some crazy guitar riffs like this.

Hmm, is this an improvement, or notrly? Using what I had, I tried to make the string spiccatos more spiccato-y, including a slowly volume-increasing high pitched full-string spiccato playing the "melody" on the left so that it doesn't get too quiet at the end.

Yeah, a definite improvement with pronouncing the violin(?)/string notes, and I can understand why you want to start it off with just the violin(?)/string and gradually build it up.

Although I think seen as it's the last 12 seconds of your life before you drown, for me I was thinking along the lines of it being as epic to listen to from the beginning, as it is at the end. I think it doesn't only have to sound the most epic at the point when the 'music' gets the fastest, but all the way through.

I could be very wrong on this, as it can easily spoil the tension of the ending; It's just a thought, anyway - I'll see what everyone else thinks about it.

I like the "breath" at the end of the Moar Drowning version. It's still present in the newest version, but it's quieter. Maybe turn it back up a bit?

  11. I love it. :) The deep thumping in the background seems like a heart beating, certainly gives a sense of urgency and fear. Nice

lol, I don't know why, but I was just thinking of this last night...
    -----------------------------------

"get a bubble" "get a bubble" "get a bubble" "get a bubble"

    "getabubble""getabubble""getabubble""getabubble"

"bubble bubble" "bubble bubble" "bubble bubble" "bubble bubble"

    "bubblebubble""bubblebubble""bubblebubble""bubblebubble"

    NOW!...... (*drowns*)
    -----------------------------------

  13. Speaking of bubbles, is the bubble sound at the end of the drowning theme going to be added separately?

It's a separate sound effect in the original, isn't it? I'd assume it'd be the same here.

Also, Growler, that was pretty funny. XD

Doesn't the final note lack too much strength? It's like all those instruments kept building up for nothing, in the end.

In case it hasn't been posted yet, here's Sonic Adventure's drowning tune for reference.

Makes sense to me. If you're drowning, you would fade to black, wouldn't you?

Better, but it's still missing something. I can't put my finger on it, though.
