Methinks my rom is hacked!

Even the Zone names suck. And yeah, it's quite obvious that it's just a title card hack. No big deal.

 

Which Sonic 1 rom are you talking about? If it's the Genesis version, it works find for me...so I don't think it's a hack except for one small thing. Is it normal for the Level Select menu to look the way it does, as in the chronological order of each zone?

 

Yep. There's two versions: one has them starting with GHZ-LZ whereas the other has GHZ-MZ. Check LZ, out of curiosity - are there any nifty underwater effects. And in GHZ, do the clouds move?

 

Actually, there are 3 versions. That 3rd one is currently undumped, and is on Sonic Mega Collection.

 

Oh yea, that's right! It's the one with spindash.

No, its the one where the spike bug is fixed. But I guess there could be 4 versions.

 

The one on Sonic Jam isn't really a version as such. It's a different format.

The one at Sonic Stuff has the water bubbles effect in the labyrinth zone. No moving clouds in GHZ though.

 

Oddly enough, I downloaded a Sonic 1 ROM from Sonic Stuff (are we talking about the same site?) which was completely normal. Maybe your browser screwed up the download. :lol:
