Ice Hockey is the shit, it's like NES Ice Hockey, but with Mario and Sonic characters. And power shots.

Snowball fighting is pretty cool too.

EDIT 2: Oh dear christ, this soundtrack IS full of fanservice! Pity the Sonic stuff is hampered by the lack of DCT-rights-owned material, though. I wonder how much it'd cost Sega to just outright buy all the material for future use?

Could be that was done just as a one-off, but at the same time they've done a couple of GHZ remixes. Possibly they just bought that one track? *shrug*

However, they have licensed from DCT before - see Sonic 06.

Dreams Come True, a Japanese band, composed the music to Sonic 1 and Sonic 2. They retained the copyright to their songs, so Sega couldn't use them in Sonic Spinball for example.

I'm loving those renders. I wonder why they didn't release all of them on calendars (on the Sonic Channel) before switching over to the character sketches (which are still quite nice, so whatever works I guess). Then again, characters like Vector and Metal Sonic were probably given that art specifically for this game.

Or is this shit from that art assets DVD drx hasn't released yet (no offense)?

I can't wait for 'Mario & Sonic at the 2016 Olympic Games'. It's going to take place in Rio, so expect lots of Emerald Coast/Neo Green Hill/Wave Ocean/Abadat references.

Yes, they recycled the Shadow the Hedgehog's one. The same way as they did with Espio and Charmy.
Also, we have the Big and Cream CG artworks from Sonic Heroes, along with CG art of Chaos0 from Sonic Adventure. Etc, etc.

EDIT: I said Vector, while I wanted to say Espio. XD

Little fun aside, and this certainly made me smile a little. Some people have found in the credits a company named RACJIN. For people who don't know, this is RACDYM, who programmed Snowboard Kids 1 and 2 on the N64 and Snowboard Kids+ on PS1 (enhanced port of SBK1.) They had their hand in the snowboarding sections of this game, meaning Snowboard Kids fans may greatly enjoy them.

And that is your nugget of joy for today.
