Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games

I had a feeling a "Mario and Sonic Stadium" series would flourish.

Here's hoping, since it's an obvious mini-game fest, they fix up several of the downfalls of the Olympic Games (I.E. Bring on more "Dream" Events!)

 

Ugh... what a waste of time to make a sequel. I wish they'd make a traditional platformer with the two of them in it, developed by Nintendo. Or a game done in the style of Super Mario RPG with Sonic and Mario.

 

I would take that with caution, that magacine ( nintendo accion) has already "announced" games that were fakes all along. It's not a good magacine.

 

The next one will be a port of the original California Games.

I can already see Shadow pwning everyone at the skating event.

The skislope from Wii Fit, etc. I think curling would be done well, for some reason I doubt it hasn't been done before, seems familiar. I would like to see cross-country skiing aswell. Shame it probably won't have figure/freestyle skating or ice hockey, too hard to put in, but it would have been amusing :D

Didn't really consider the prospect of the Balance Board... which I hope would be an optional piece. This is all on the assumption this is real.

Now, I don't see how the Winter Olympics would be tied in. I mean, don't they usually take place every two years, sometimes falling alongside the Olympics? I just don't see if the sponsorship would matter or not.

 

Every four years, 2010 being then next, IIRC. I'm likely to be wrong though. You know me.

I do hope (if the game exists) that there is an alternative to the Balance Board, But I suppose that would be useful for things like cross-country skiing... Does add some interesting gameplay styles, though.

 

Seeing as how the winter Olympics are filled with much more epic events I'm pretty happy about this cross over. Hey, even if it's meant to just make cash, hopefully the bundles of profit will go to making an awesome Sonic game. But even if this is not the case, I'm happy

I'm just hoping they put a more even distribution of dream and real events, if not all dream events. Mario and Sonic on its own was decent, but everyone seemed to like the dream based events much more than the normal ones.

 

The dream events were awesome. If the entire game was nothing but dream events, it would have been very well recieved.

I hope this game is nothing but dream events, and that they flesh them out a bit more. Dream Race had a TON of potential that was unexplored. It was basically 3D sonic (like SA2) meets Mario Kart.

EDIT: Also, less annoying motion controls. It'd have been better to just hold up to run than drumming in the air with the wiimote and nunchuck.

 

California Games was win. I'd so buy it.

 

Heh, the should throw sonic & mario together in a few different competetive games. That, or do something similar to what they did with Crash & Spyro, put Sonic in mario's world and vice - versa

 

That would rule.

 

I always saw Mario and Sonic as the natural successor to the just Mario sports games (collectively referred to as the Mario Stadium game.) Short of pulling a Madden every year or two, the franchise will be bound to get old on just Mario alone. However... this also keep the door open for a Mario and Sonic Shuffle Party. I don't think the world can handle that.

 

You would have to roll the dice to get a number put on a card which would then be shuffled and randomly placed for the different characters. D:

Or maybe it would be a poker game. Who knows?
