I want to get my dad a new DVD Recorder for Christmas, and was hoping Retro could help me find a good deal on a decent recorder. My budget is pretty tight, 100USD including shipping being my limit. At a bare minimum, the recorder needs: a built-in turner suitable for standard cable. support for at least 6-hours per single layer disc. is easy to program for timed recording. comes with remote and all needed cables. Extra features that would be nice, but not necessary(in descending order of importance) DVDR/VCR combo with VHS-to-DVD and DVD-to-VHS recording. Support for recording and playing data DVDs with Divx/Xvid encoded avi Harddrive for intermediate storage until archiving to DVD. Any help on this would be appreciated.
