Shouldn't at least SEGA be celebrating this day?
They're really doing nothing? Hm.
It wasn't specifically for the anniversary, but I got a Sonic decal for my rear windshield a few days ago. Classic Sonic, the pose from the box for S&K Collection.
Party time! :specialed:/>
But yeah, it's... surprisingly quiet for such anniversary.
(BTW - if someone due to this occasion is planning to play in this weekend in something Sonic-esque via internet, I'm eager to join! I'm quite interested in Sonic Robo Blast 2 multiplayer, and I've never had an opportunity to try it).
No July 22 everything is revealed on July 22 until then memes and July 22
Yea I'm going to play 1 to 3k if I have the time and patience when I get home
It is odd, I have to say,
Regardless of an announcement next month, all I've seen is a video on YouTube from the official channel, going through each game through the years. While others have posted their well wishes on social media, or posts on their own sites.
But, the day isn't over yet; there could still be something.
They're some subtle references.
Sonic's Twitter Account
Amazon Web Page
And this video from the Official YouTube Account (it was already posted in the other thread)
Psh, no. The actual 25th anniversary isn't worth celebrating. Who cares. Better to show off the new game at an event that only an extremely small subset of people will be able to witness. It's way better that way.
If you missed it in the Lounge, I shamelessly double-dipped and made this video for both Sonic's 25th and the Team Four Star Tenkaichi blah blah whatever the frikkin' frik'.
Wait, Shout! Factory doesn't have the rights to distribute the DiC Sonic shows anymore. It's some other company.
I think it says something that they're waiting to reveal the next game once they have something to show, rather than trying to beat an impossible deadline.
There's plenty of celebrating to go around despite that. There are two big Humble Bundles, NioZero showed us Amazon and Twitter celebrating his birthday, and there's more celebratory fan art today than you can shake a stick at. :specialed: I would have drawn something myself if the midterm exam for a class wasn't breathing down my neck this week.
I was so sure that we'd hear... SOMETHING today! Ah well, wishful thinking I guess.
Celebrating today by booting up Sonic Colours in Dolphin and trying to beat the Egg Shuttle finally. Man, this game is a beaut when forced into HD/60fps. Makes me almost want a remaster!
Man, this is such a bummer. It was already a questionable enough decision to not put the 25th Anniversary party (and consequently the game announcement) in June, but the fact they completely dropped the ball in terms of promotional anything is a huge bummer.
Bundles on Amazon and Steam are great, but not going to lie, I'm still salty that the game announcement wasn't today.
When the game gets announced, it will be easy to forget the longer than normal wait.
This thread's title pretty much sums up my thoughts on this year's anniversary. I mean seriously SEGA what the heck?
Ah, really? Crap, that's starting to ring a bell too.
Edit: Yep, they were releasing it through Cookie Jar Entertainment, who cut 'em off in 2012. I added an annotation. Thanks for pointing it out. There's bound to be errors everywhere in that thing.
Luckily I received my first ever and only Sonic game (excellent condition S&K) for my first Genesis I bought and have had sitting around for 2 years and finally got to play a Sonic game on a genesis for the first time. I know, shocking, but I've found more convenience in playing everything on PC or phone rather than getting the original thing. I'll snag a copy of Sonic 3 pretty soon as well. Anyway, Happy 25th Birthday Sonic, my life wouldn't be the same without you. My childhood was all about S&K Collection.
Well, that's something at least. Even though the video says that there will be some surprises for Sonic's anniversary.
...which is today. :v:/>
EDIT: By the way, it's kind of weird when they keep saying that Sonic's original name was "Mr. Needlemouse" when the correct translation of "Mr. Harinezumi" is just "Mr. Hedgehog"... There's really no other source to it than the wrong translation in that old Bad Influence program, is there?
I too thought we'd get something today :/
Well, at least I took time to do something decent. :v:
It's not just Sega, 2016 overall is the year of lackluster 10th, 15th, 20th and 25th game anniversary's
A delivery from Japan I'd been waiting for for weeks decided to show up today, which was a nice sort of way of celebrating I suppose.
I also drew a little sonic for a video series I'm starting from today (but sadly haven't got anything ready for just yet other than a trailer)
I think a lets play of sonic's gamesworld is in order this weekend haha
Separate names with a comma.
