  1. My only concern is that it looks way too blurry. Other than that I like it.

    Hence why I also said:
    My point was to show the different inner colors and clouds shape, not the edge colors.

    Can someone please post the boss sprites? I'd like to work on some and wanna get a proper sprite sheet.

    There is no need to kill creativity if it keeps in the limits of staying close enough to the original and coherent with characters.
    Having a complete set of BG elements fully integrated with characters and shade-style means immediate use for our engine.

    If LSH mockup or tileset will be great like I expect it to, we'll have a set level "art-style" for the entire project.

    However, due S2HD's philosophy of "being-open-to-all-good-contributions", we will continue to test all Level art before excluding some.
    Let's say we'll be driving a car for a race, and we are trying to analyze and test the entire track before starting.
    We'll never know if S2HD could have been better if we rush on this. Right?

    So, apart from LSH incoming contributions, we will keep evaluating all the other potentially good EHZ art (with the requirement of being open to critics,to improve it).

    A little experiment I just did, using some random clouds and altering them:

    With a bit of time, the shapes could be modified to completely match the original.


    It's just a crappy proof of concept, but I hope you get the idea. =|

    It's not "they". It's "us", as a whole.

    Remember that this is a community project, not an official game or anything...

    Ohhh, I like that. With some improvements it would look perfect.

    I think it would look better if the inside of the cloud was made slightly more fuzzy to match the outer edge.

    Yeah... Perhaps I just chose the wrong cloud, there must be some other stock pics that match the original's inside better.

    Yeah... good luck keeping that in a 256 color palette and still looking good.

    Thing is... I don't think I currently have the proper tools or knowledge to make a final professional-looking version out of this.

    Right now I'm just pitching the idea, in case somebody likes it and wants to give it a try. =|

    Yes, I appreciate that. Still, you've opened up a very important avenue of discussion. I'm looking forward to how feedback and critique on this progresses.

    I took a stab at one of EHZ's flowers. I know it's not too great, just thought I'd share.

    Also: The "gradient" was hand drawn in ms paint.
