There is a certain grim satisfaction to be had from forcing these things to work on a modern system, nice work. First thing I do when I get a new rig is install all my 90s stuff on it and check it all still works, so I know the struggle :-D

And might as well throw in a shameless plug. If anyone should stumble across this thread because they were trying to get their Sega PC games working, I fought that battle back in 2021 (mostly using the incredible DxWnd software). Although that was a while ago, better check they're still working...

Thank you for this thread btw! the information you posted was incredibly useful for me when I got Sega Rally 2 working on Win11 on my CRT monitor a few months back. Even had it working with my 8bitdo Ultimate Xbox pad with no issues!

I thought about posting that at the time but didn’t want to bump it out of the blue.

I just saw that thread and WOW: What region are you from? Because I don't ever remember Virtua Cop being released as Virtua Cop on PC. Over here, it was Virtua Squad. Where was it released as Virtua Cop on PC?

EDIT: I notice in that topic you mention that there are no known rips of the NV1 software. I have all the original disks from my NV1 and have all the games ripped from them, a full NV1 set of games including Battle Arena Toshinden and Descent: Saturn. Of interest are the NV1 ports of Daytona USA, Virtua Fighter, and Panzer Dragoon. Any place I can mirror them?

They're all UK PAL releases. Funnily enough, someone on here a few years ago got me to send them the title screen BMP, clearly the Squad name bothers quite a few US folks!

Genuinely didn't intend to hijack the thread though, that ECCO thing really is a cool find.

It was more than there is no modern wrapper that lets me run them on non period hardware. Awesome that you've got them though, I'd go with archive org if you're looking for somewhere to host them.
