it was posted about in the Sonic Superstars thread (since it's relevant to that) but there's an online game you can play on the games section of the LEGO site. And if you wanna play it in fullscreen or do some digging around for archival's sake, you can also do that.
Has anybody ripped this yet so we can fully play it offline/have a backup for the wiki when this inevitably goes away? https://www.lego.com/assets/sonic/games/speed-sphere-challenge/index.html
A tease for more sets has been released, showing three new minifigs. As expected from the Superstars LEGO Pack DLC, Knuckles is one of them - the real surprise is that Shadow and Rouge are also set to feature! Be interesting to see what the sets themselves are, but either way it looks like the entire Hero/Dark crews from Sonic Adventure 2 will soon exist in official LEGO form, which is great to see! And only 22 years too late to cash in on that 10th Anniversary hype, haha. ; )
oh yeah, for the past month or two, I've passed by the lego store in the mall of america (where I go every sunday) and they have a few sonic sets on display! For context, what usually lives in the displays are realistic lego kits (like their Insect Collection and their Perseverance rover kit) and property sets, which at the moment included a Harry Potter set, a huge Star Wars space ship one for a good while, and this! It's super weird/interesting seeing Sonic in the same zone as such big names.
The first new set has appeared on the site for German retailer JB Spielwaren: Official LEGO merchandise (loosely) themed after Shadow the Hedgehog in 2023/4? It's more likely than you think. Love that they even have the little symbol from the game's logo on the side of the bike, haha! The set seems to contain Shadow with his motorcycle, a Shadow Android capsule (with a road barrier attached) and, for some reason, a Rhinobot. I reckon a brick-built Egg Pawn may have been a better choice thematically for an enemy to include in this set, but hey, it's still mostly themed after the 2005 game.
Looks like that Shadow set is coming December 1st, per Lego. https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/...=AFC-AffiliateUS-0wLgH49VWzI-2949699-115554-2
I wonder if that has something to do with the movie coming (not saying this is Movie Shadow, by the way).
there are LEGO Guns you can get. I have a few on my desk that I've given to my LEGO Dimensions Sonic minifigure because it's funny.
Black Friday deals mean there's some discounts to be had on these if anyone's looking - buying from two different places, I've managed to snag my little one the Death Egg Robot and Tails' Workshop sets for only a few quid more than the former normally goes for! = D It's all being packed away until Christmas, but I know it'll be well received as I've been constantly asked "Can we buy some Sonic LEGO to take home?" every time we see a set on the shelves, haha. Hoping I'll be allowed to help build the larger set at least - looking forward to helping out, and perhaps borrowing both sets to take some funny LEGO photos if I can find a moment where they're not being played with, haha...! ; ) Thanks again @Roller - I'm convinced that without your IDEAS set this range might not have come to be, and the addition of the Death Egg Robot set in particular makes it feel like the journey set out in your initial plans has finally been completed, even if it doesn't match the exact design of your take on it. I'll be happy to have one in the house, even if it's not actually mine - betting my little one will have lots of fun with all the playable elements, too, and in that sense it definitely maintains the spirit of your version! = )
