This is probably the best LEGO ad ever made.

Ironically I think I hate this one more than I liked the previous Eggman ones.

Also I saw they were made available today and went to check if my Walmart stocked them, and they did, but only the Sonic ball thing and the Eggman mech. Those things were sooo expensive. Idk If I'll ever get any of them.

I started seeing them in Target stores as well but man I forgot how dumb Lego prices were.

  7. Ah glad to see this. I get the vibe that these LEGO Sonic sets aren't collector's piece but a marketing / actual kids toy. I remember folks going mad for LEGO Mario sets thinking it was going to be hot cakes and then the market was saturated with the sets and available everywhere, inc. big box stores.

I may pick up a big set some day in the future. But my LEGO Ideas Sonic set still sits on a shelf unopened; so these news sets will probably be a miss on me.

Oh they're absolutely kids toys. Their main gimmick is to smash into each other like Lego Stuntz sets.

Ya I think I’ll stick with the original set and call it a day. I’ve never been a huge Lego person, so getting 5 more sets doesn’t really make much sense for me (especially because these are modern based and I don’t care about modern sonic merch as much)

    Did some quick searches:
    Sonic's Speed Sphere Challenge: $34.99
Tails' Workshop and Tornado Plane: $39.99
    Amy's Animal Rescue Island: $49.99
    Sonic vs. Dr. Eggman's D.E.R.: $59.99
Sonic's Green Hill Zone Loop Challenge: $99.99

  12. God damn. That final one is pricey. That’d probably end up being closer to $200 here in Denmark.

Okay, I looked it up before posting. It’s around 1000 DKK so like $150 USD. I’m glad I’m not into Lego haha.

Over here in Brazil it'd cost around $487.29.

A couple of guys at work are really into Lego and Star Wars, and they constantly talking about not just how insane the prices are, but how many sets there are too. Sonic fans are lucky by comparison.

But yeah, glad that idgaf about Lego either.

I wouldn't really consider myself a collector, so the prices aren't absurd to me because I need every single set, usually these days I just want certain minifigures (was half of the incentive for me getting LEGO Dimensions when it was about to not exist, for the Sonic figure, but also Batman and Wyldstyle figures were cool bonuses)
I'm left in a similar situation here: I just want the Tails, Eggman and Amy minifigures, and that Death Egg Robot and MAYBE the Tornado. Everything else is boring.

Surprised not to see this mentioned here - apparently German-language LEGO site brickmerge.de lists two additional Sonic sets releasing in January 2024, numbered #76995 and #76996. Not big in the LEGO community so no idea how this site's track record is re: set leaks etc, but thought it was worth mentioning. Both seem to be slightly smaller sets, with the site listing them with brick counts of 196 and 276 respectively.

If true, I'm personally hoping we get a Knuckles minifig out of them at least - he's been part of the core Sonic crew for several decades now, so his absence from the initial run of sets is noticeable. Plus, it'd allow them to expand their LEGO collaboration for Sonic Superstars with costumes for the other playable characters down the line - assuming that's not already part of the plan, that is...! = P

I got myself Tails Tornado one. I like how it looks. Def plan getting the other sets too, 1 set each month. I usually look places with a small discount

I bought a handful of the Sonic Minifig keyrings. They’re awesome.

I have the entire set except for the smallest one based on their IDW cover and I will say I have far too much fun messing with these sets. They're fun to fiddle with. The Death Egg Robo is probably my favorite set. Though I like the pseudo Egg Walker in the Green Hill Loop set
