Surprised nobody noticed this and posted it, especially since there's a Linux build now... Downloads here
Not yet, however I heard Steve knows about it but he's busy atm. But he'll look into it in the future. However, if it means anything, when you select a level to play - it actually plays the music for the next stage. I'm not sure if Kega Fusion did this in the last version. So it's a start. Here's hoping Steve gets it working someday. ps: I love the soundtrack
Can somebody explain me what is the Messenger status update thing about? I never figured out what it did.
Thanks for letting me know. I'm in no rush to change yet though, so I'm just going to keep using 3.61 for the moment. Maybe if it gets to 3.66 THEN I'll download a new version. Right now though I'm not really having any problems with Fusion 3.61 as most of the games I play on it emulate quite well. P.S. He still needs to add a 2X Scale thingy for the screen. I don't know why but its the only thing that Gens has that Fusion doesn't have as far as I know. Maybe he should actually go for 3X Scale as well. Regardless, we'll cross that bridge when we get there.
Fusion will scale automatically depending on the window/fullscreen resolution... Also there are plug-ins to do the job. So I really don't see what you're complaining about.
Steve knows why the X-Men 32X game fails and he'll fix it, if he hasn't already. The Messenger status emulates the Games status on Windows Live Messenger. Enable it and the current game you're playing will be displayed with the game status in WLM. EDIT: Sik, like this...
Oh, so is THAT why it doesn't work in Trillian? I was playing with this the other day and couldn't get it working. Oh well. =P Always nice to see a new version of Fusion - especially now there's a Linux port
Yeah, it'll only work with Windows Live Messenger. I guess one could suggest adding support to Trillian (assuming Trillian supports the games status).
Yeah - I assumed it did it though the Music status (which Trill supports), which is why I was trying to get it working in Trillian. Didn't know a Games one even existed until now.
Oh, Snake already fixed X-Men 32X for the next version, so you guys know. But he's waiting for feedback before he releases any new builds. If any of you guys find any bugs, game issues or anything else, I'd inform Snake on the Kega forums about it as soon as possible.
HOORAY LINUX BUILD Gens/GS has NO fucking excuse now. (No harm intended with previous statement) Except <Sik> 8MB ROM support
Which is not coming soon but once Gerbil sorts out the mapping system, but the idea is there. Also AamirM is going to implement that support in Regen provided I finish some translation for him, which I have done most of the menus but still needs quite some work in the dialog area (especially the error messages). And before somebody asks, this is possible by fooling the hardware into thinking that the cartridge is not there. Somehow tying a single line in the cartridge causes the hardware to expand the ROM area from 4MB to 8MB and also kills the TMSS message, in one of the most epic exploits ever o_O This shadows the Mega CD, but the cartridge can have extra hardware to actually feed the value of the line from some internal latch or something, effectively letting the program to toggle the new mapping method. Also by providing custom !DTACK in the $800000-$9FFFFF area it'd be possible to go even further and expand it to 10MB. None of these tricks can be used in conjuction with the 32X, which is hardwired to 4MB (and the latter also conflicts with the 32X mappings as well!).
No excuse for what? (Then again, you're only capable of programming in BASIC, so you don't really have any credibility when it comes to writing emulators.) I am planning on adding 8MB ROM support in Gens/GS r7.1 (MD mode only), even though that will be before the ROM mapping rewrite. Other stuff will be done later, since I'm not able to spend 24/7 working on this stuff.
Yo bitch. I dunno how any programming experience affects my ability to like Kega Fusion more than Gens/GS. Plus, I can do stuff other than BASIC too. Plus "No fucking excuse now" is just something that you say. You know, you've got no fucking excuse now. Also, don't know if you're blind or something, but I did say "no harm intended".
