Or perhaps they just thought "Mech" was short for "Mechanic". Those crazy japs and their Engrish. EDIT: Heh, this topic's views count keeps going up dramatically each second.
(Wow I'm late to this.) This Sonic 3 prototype, been waiting for this for like 8 years now. Haha remember that initial OMG! Fuss about the S1 proto last year?
yeah I remember, it's a shame there's no S1 proto with this but if there really are 13 Chaotix Protos, then HELLO!
I'm actually rather suprised it's gone 45 minutes without a reply until now. I dunno -- in any case, I'm not too upset about the lack of anything for Sonic 1. I don't know why, though realizing the full scope of this project, I am actually excited now, contrary to what I may have posted before.
Well, concerning any Sonic 1 prototypes, I'm pretty sure patience and a little sweet talking of that one person with a Sonic 1 prototype will yield any results for that (either that or a shitload of donated cash). Otherwise, consider this thought for a moment. Never before has the community got more that one important prototype in one day. There has only been two Sonic 2 prototypes so far, and drx is about to release five Sonic 2 prototypes in one day. Do any of you realize how mindblowing that is? Forget Sonic 3/S&K, and Knuckles Chaotix for a moment... FIVE Sonic 2 prototypes. It's pretty damn amazing with that one fact alone. Although, it's a shame there isn't any Sonic Spinball prototypes with this.
DRX never gave a complete list of the games he has. How do you know which games he has and which he hasn't?
An article about this big release made it to the front page of Digg today! That will explain any anomalously huge visitor numbers we see. Like in Sonic 2, I guess dreams really do come true! *eagerly awaits the 23rd*

Wow, a lot has happened since I last posted here... Good thing I actually happen to have money at this point in time, so I sent some your way. Pretty much everything else I wanted to say has already been said, so here's another "omg u r teh awesum". EDIT: Out of curiosity, how many donations have you received since making this announcement?
Whoa. I know I'm mega late to say this but, nice work drx! I really want to see the Sonic 3 and Chaotix proto! The Sonic 2 one isn't very interesting to me but something is something. A question about the Chaotix proto: Does it have a field map like in Sonic Crackers?
Actually, there's multiple prototypes for each game - for example, there's apparently 5 different Sonic 2 prototypes and 13 different Chaotix prototypes in the set. There's also multiple Sonic 3 prototypes - it was thought that there were 2, but apparently the Sonic 3 / Sonic & Knuckles stuff is somehow "different" to how drx originally thought, and the numbers we were originally given are no longer accurate. Quite what this means, I can only speculate, but apparently it means there's "sort of" more Sonic 3 stuff than originally thought. As for whether any of the Chaotix prototypes contain any remains of the field maps, however, I'm also interested to know.
I can't believe I didn't notice this until now! It was the digg article that actually alerted me to it. This is amazing DRX. Congratulations. I would love to make a donation but my PayPal account isn't working like someone else said. Is there an alternate method I could make a donation?
At first I didn't understand why everyone was so excited about these new prototypes(oxymoron?). Sik the Hedgehog's post with the link to that article in it helped me understand a bit more and this seems more amazing than I initially thought. Thanks Drx. I'm looking forward to these protos also.
