I managed to find this image of the style guide used for Japanese "SegaSonic the Hedgehog" products from 1995 onwards on an old Metal Sonic fansite. The majority of this artwork is unique and has rarely ever been reused (its most notable new lease on life was the Stray Rats fashion line). Has anyone else seen images from or (knows somebody who) has this guide? Anyone seen any Japanese brand guideline books show up? If you have or if there's a term I should be searching for, I would love to know.

Page appears to read "Artwork on disk and positive film" so it would have come with a CD and 35mm slides/transparencies.

Sonic Origins contained six pages from a SegaSonic style guide, but this only covered the first few years of the brand. Sonic Mega Collection includes an illustration of Sonic from the style guide.

Biggest metal sonic fan ! I love it !!! someday if I ever get the chance to revisit my Metal Sonic model(the one used in my avatar), I think I can pose it like that! That’s super awesome!! You have no idea how much you made my day today!
The style reminds me of the knuckles Chaotix variant.

Oh damn look at that, classic Metal Sonic art that’s not just the Sonic CD art for the 800th time.

does anyone know or recognize the art for what looks like Sonic's arm at the left? This is really interesting if there's there's a whole guide with fully painted renders for characters we haven't seen before.

yes, as i said these were used all across japanese merchandise for the latter half of the 90s (which used the segasonic trademark). im still finding new art just looking for those products (two drawings ive found lifted straight from sonic the comic)

Like someone said, these artwork were used a lot in mid 90s Japanese merch. There's even a version of the different turnarounds of what we have now.
