  1. I just figured this out cos I felt like doing something, not very difficult, but for the people that don't know, have fun :).
    Guide made by me, credit where it's do, blah blah. :)
    Note: Only for the numbers, part 1 I suppose, I may or may not do part 2 for the text.
    Note2: You will have to change the mappings if you want to add more letters/numbers.

    If someone would put this on the wiki it would be appreciated.

    First, go into your rom and look for
    Code (Text):
    1. ; word_3E82:
    2. ; Sega Copy right text. Sega Text <<< Label
    3. CopyrightText:
    and label it whatever you like, like I did here.

    The original code should look like:

    Code (Text):
    1. CopyrightText:
    2.     dc.w  $68B; (C)
    3.     dc.w     0;
    4.     dc.w  $681; 1
    5.     dc.w  $689; 9
    6.     dc.w  $689; 9
    7.     dc.w  $682; 2
    8.     dc.w     0;
    9.     dc.w  $6A0; S
    10.     dc.w  $692; E
    11.     dc.w  $694; G
    12.     dc.w  $68E; A

    Now, the format of the numbers, is:

    Code (Text):
    1. Number List
    2.     dc.w  $680; 0
    3.     dc.w  $681; 1
    4.     dc.w  $682; 2
    5.     dc.w  $683; 3
    6.     dc.w  $684; 4
    7.     dc.w  $685; 5
    8.     dc.w  $686; 6
    9.     dc.w  $687; 7
    10.     dc.w  $688; 8
    11.     dc.w  $689; 9
    12.     dc.w     0; Space
    Basically you edit the numbers to what you want, save, and you have your results!

    Example: If you want your text to say 2008, you change

    Code (Text):
    1.     dc.w  $68B; (C)
    2.     dc.w     0;
    3.     dc.w  $681; 1
    4.     dc.w  $689; 9
    5.     dc.w  $689; 9
    6.     dc.w  $682; 2
    TO

    Code (Text):
    1.     dc.w  $68B; (C)
    2.     dc.w     0;
    3.     dc.w  $682; 2
    4.     dc.w  $680; 0
    5.     dc.w  $680; 0
    6.     dc.w  $688; 8

    You're done! Like I said, nothing huge, but a nifty little thing if you don't know how to edit it in s2.

    Wasn't this clearly documented in saxman's guide? Since, like, 2002?

    I appreciate tutorials and all that, but there's a limit, people. Let's not keep common sense from being a factor in learning how to hack Sonic games.

  3. It was? Oh shit :X. Sorry about that then. I've been looking around for an answer, couldn't find it and went to figure out a way myself.

    Edit: Found it in the wiki, but that's in hex format.... Oh well, I do find this simpler to understand, maybe for the newbies.
