How do you make Ips patches?

Here is how I do it. First go here and go down to sega tool and download. Now extract it and load up the program and select "create ips." Now find the directory that has the non hacked game and select it. Now find the hacked rom's directory and select it. Now test the ips out to see if it worked.

 

You can always try Shadowsoft, as they are hosting several different hacks, and are always open to submissions. If that doesn't work, check out the new SSRG, as they had a link to some ISP site that hosts every ISP given to them.

Simon, I have a question. How do I play some of the Sonic 1 hacks? I go to the Sonic SSRG Hack Archive and I download Mighty in Sonic 1, I can't play it on Gens, Do I have to Connect it to Sonic 1? If so, how?

 

I'm not Simon, but you need a patching utility like StealthPatch to apply the patch to Sonic 1.

 

I applied the patch, but when I click on the game it won't let me play the hack, itll only let me play the normal version. What am I doing wrong?

I should have been more specific. Could you make a list of what you did to apply the patch?

 

I clicked on file, then I clicked on Apply IPS patch, then I clicked on Sonic 2.Bin, then It told me to pick the patch I wnat to apply, I clicked on Shadchao.ips, a shadow in sonic 2 patch, and it applied it, but when I play Sonic 2, its the normal version. What am I doing Wrong?

 

Erm, did that isp come with an extra data set? Because those are sometimes needed to have everything run properly. Other than that though, I don't know what could be happening to not allow you to patch right.

 

I think I applied the Read as an extara data set, I think that's the problem.
