To put things in some perspective...if everyone who read the release on my site to this point had donated $5, there would be over $3100 going to Child's Play already. That would be a 40 day ban by day 2. Think about it. -T
Again... the hypocrisy of it all. Kind of shocking. Give it a few days and it'll wear off. Wallets open. Christmas, dammit.
Yeah.. this is kinda the wrong time to do something like this.. Christmas = money spent already, so not many people have their wallets full for something like this, including me. Also, over $3100 implies over 620 people.. is that unique visitors, or is it just page views in general?
People, donate! You're banning JOURNALISM and helping children in one fell swoop! (Incidentally, this isn't hypocrisy; this is not being able to get a job around here for another year. I'd donate if I had some source of income...)
^^^ Thats a rare post. What brings you here DK? Cinossu has got a point, wrong time of the season. I just had to fork over $150 of my check to the DMV so no X-mas for me this year right now I'm just focused on living until the 1st. wish I did have the income to donate to this cause.
I would say you're a Grinch, but doing it that way only means you appreciate having me around so much. I'm flattered. :v:
TSS has been under the microscope since 2007. Nothing new there. Plus, Tristan only has 198 posts in nearly 2 years. It's not worth banning him if he's not a frequent visitor. Also, banning him here doesn't stop him from being a complete dickcheese on his own site. You might as well just donate straight to Child's Play.
If you're gonna donate to Child's Play and there's an option of a fun extra, why not take it? I got a picture drawn during Desert Bus =P
I would donate, but I just don't have any money to give until after Christmas. Which is a shame, because I'd love to see Tristan banned and not write articles about Retro forum drama every day.
Eh, I want to help children in need. I'm a charitable dude. I just find it deathly ironic that people are donating to 'ban someone they hate', when in actuality all it's doing is glorifying and cementing Tristan's status as playful and harmless. If you think you're teaching anybody a lesson by donating to this cause instead of straight to the source, you're being played for a fool. That, and I need to spend more time on Retro anyways. Love this place. In many ways, without me none of this notoriety you've gained would have ever existed. So I guess the appreciation from you is mutual, eh? Wouldn't my methods make me the opposite of a Grinch anyway, since it gets you out of a ban? I was never worried. Annoyed, back in the day, yes, but never worried. Should I be worried of a bully? I don't know, I'm not in high school anymore. Good to see you kicking around as well, Nik.
Haha, I was just joking about TSS/TSSZ. To be honest, I don't follow the site and rarely find myself getting worked up over what is posted there. As far as I remember, being on a Sonic site's staff involved far more serious worries than the occasional "ZOMG Pachuka said Sonic Site #547 is closing!" news story. Thanks, you too. I've mellowed out a bit lot since I used to post at Spong, heh. Ended up doing some mild journalism of my own over at Arcade Heroes, though my time for that (as well as most other things) has been severely cut in recent months. Did manage to get to Summer of Sonic, though.
Holy crap, I had no idea you were at SoS. Unless I did and I completely forgot (must apologise, my mind was all over the place that day). I remember your posts at SPOnG, I actually didn't mind them! I was doing freelance for the site but I'm fulltime now, which is all good. Busy busy though (lunch break, hee hee). In regards to this event in general, I have no ill will towards Tristan other than the hate/love/hate obsession he seems to harbour for me (but hey, not my problem). But in many ways, the Sonic community has never been tighter. So I disagree that in doing this we're "putting aside all differences", it merely seems to be a way for Tristan to make good with all the people he's pissed off without actually apologising. But hey, if this is his way of going about it, then I'm not one to complain. Wish you all the best with the charity campaign.
Wait, wait, wait...you won one of the Ken Steacy drawings? That is awesome. :v: I'll probably donate some moolah next week. To anybody thinking of donating, I highly recommend it, it's for the children!
Oh, no, not one of those - I got one of them to draw a picture during one of the graveyard shifts: That's their interpretation of an =P, apparently XD
And me. For every $10 you donate, you (the donator!) get one day of oper-abuse immunity from me. (I am also a red-headed bastard)
Tis the season too be banning tralalalalalalalala! Donated $30. Xkeeper your immunity means nothing because Tweaker will still abuse me. =(
