Just press start at the tile screen. Or A+start and whatever stage except for Special Stage.

Enjoy the possibly only way to see these planets in action.

5 hours of drawing and programming and tile managing.

Oh, and I found space in VRAM where the planets were stored before they got removed. After the last cloud pattern in MZ, there are exactly 34 empty patterns, where you can fit two different planet animations, which is needed because you need different cloud backgrounds. So I used two different animations because I could. It wasn't like that in the real Beta.

The planets probably got removed because of ROM size issues. I had to remove all the flowers in GHZ, and the steam in SBZ1 to fit the planets in. So you can guess yourself what had to go in the end.

So what do you think? Makes you wonder what you can't do nowdays with the Sonic engine.

Made it kinda close to the real planets you can see here (in slowmotion):

..mind if I make the changes to it that I made to my one?

...or did you make that impossible? :P

    Good work!

Edit: pff... riigghht, I see how this works.

Take the changes to it that I made to my one...... Who's who? It? One? Try asking that question again, but make it easier for me to understand.

    I made nothing impossible.

    Thanks!

You see how the animation, or the VRAM or what work?

    Please ignore the commented lines.

/*Well, I think I see how you got the space.

    (Notes lack of GHZ objects)

(Assumes you dynamically reloaded the background)

(Assumes you know the heck of a lot more about ASM than I do and would be able to explain it better.)

Oh, crap. You put that in your first post. Alright. Never mind.*/

And, yeah. What I meant was...

Do you mind if I make the other changes to this hack that I made to my MZ hack, and then we would have a "closer-to-prototype" feel?

    PS. What's hivesuper? Anyone?

Go ahead! Add your stuff to it.

I didn't have to take out GHZ's animations. I did it because I wanted to make a little hoax as SClassic but failed because of their stupid validation.... Anyway.

To fool people I have to have the ROM size equal to 512. And that's why I had to remove the other pattern animations. Else the ROM would have been 1024 and people would truely know this was a hack. I can put back all the other animations. It's just one line commented away in HiveSuper.

Alright, can you do that for me? That would be muchly appreciated.

Then I'll get to work on Marble. I'll try to port my hack exactly, dunno how well it's gonna work though.

There are a few more free patterns in VRAM. You can see part of the PRESS START BUTTON in VRAM when MZ is loaded.

    I will. One sec.

Heh, if you go to special stage from level select, when you come out you go to GHZ, and the flowers look nice

I noticed you also made it so that the only demo that ran was MZ, nice job!

Here. This version has everything. One problem though. The Sega sound at the beginning gets fucked up at the end. A side effect of having too much data shifting the last data out of reach.

I hope it will be of satisfaction lostgame ^_^

Yea, but the demo keeps playing over and over, and you can't play yourself after you have watched the demo.

I do all I can to increase my postcount. I am only around 200 posts from taking the lead and become the king on S2B forever.

Nice work LOst. It feels authentic. It's very strange to play MZ with these planets.

    Certainly not. Mwahahahaha...
