    Hello everyone!

I’m not sure if this is the place to ask for this kind of thing, but does anyone have any information on ripping the character animations from both episodes of Sonic 4? There is a thread here on Retro about ripping things like textures and models, which had helped me greatly, but I cannot find a single bit of information about ripping the animations specifically. I know that it is possible simply because I remember seeing a video of someone’s failed attempt to port the Episode 2 animations into Episode 1, but there doesn’t seem to be much, of any, information about the subject anywhere.

I am working on a project in Unity involving Sonic 4, and I’d like to have all of the animations from the game itself rather than having my poor animation skills trying to recreate them from scratch. I’m also not wanting to ask for help with creating animations or anything like that from the community until I actually have something that I’m proud to show off. It would just be really nice if I just had the official animations to use so I don’t have to worry about that as much.

Anyways, if anyone has any information, it would be greatly appreciated!

Using one of the tools here in the forums to extract .AMB files by the user sonicblur, I've been able to find where the animations are stored, but they are stored in these .ZMN files, which when I use software to open those files, the software spits back out this binary text (included is a screenshot of said binary text). I don't know if this helps, but I hope this helps someone out in trying to get to the bottom of these animation files.
